There has been a lot of speculation as to what Spider-Man‘s costume will look like when he appears in Captain America: Civil War. There have been a number of supposed descriptions and renderings on the costume – some being very far removed from the original source material.  Now another image has surfaced claiming to be the first look at the webslinger. Is this just another fan made look, or is it legit?

The image originated from CBM, , who says that it comes from footage from the film that will be screened at Disney’s D23 Expo, which will be happening this weekend.

We are unable to verify if this is a legitimate screen shot taken from the footage or it was faked. But it does fall in-line with recent comment made by Marvel’s Kevin Feige who said:

“There is a young kid [already] running around New York City in a homemade version of the Spider-Man costume in the MCU.”

We also know that Spider-Man will don two suits in the film, as Heroic Hollywood  reports that Spider-Man will have a “home-made” suit and his official red-and-blue costume. The costume featured in the above shot definitely looks home made. It also looks very similar to recent and supposed leaked concept art, which you can reference below.

Still, anyone could have just Photoshopped a shot based on the above rendering. But the image does have a grainy look too it, like something somebody snagged on a cell phone. That doesn’t mean it’s any less fake, but most faked images don’t got to such lengths.
It is reasonable to assume this image might indeed be real, giving us a glimpse of Spider-Man’s prototype costume. We may very well get this confirmed this weekend at D23.
Captain America: Civil War is set for release on May 6, 2016.
