han chewie star wars force awakens
It’s hard to believe this, but we’re only 11 weeks away from the premiere of the next Star Wars movie. That also means that months and months of speculation about what the movie will be about will finally come to an end. Of course, if you wanted to, you could, instead, keep reading because it turns out that the head of Lucasfilm, Kathleen Kennedy has finally spoken in regards to Star Wars The Force Awakens. Those of you who know, this is pretty big news. As for those who don’t know what’s going on, Kennedy has rarely spoken about anything regarding the next Star Wars film, meaning that anything she has to say is usually a big thing. So, if you want to know what she had to say, then stick around.

Kennedy being Kennedy, she hasn’t ruined anything for fans. However, if you’re afraid that what you’ll read will destroy any experience you may have, then this is your only and final warning. Beyond this point, there is no coming back. You have been warned.

In an interview with The Costco Connection (yes, the same Costco where you can go food shopping, buy a patio set, and then get a slice of pizza with a churro), Kennedy opened up about the upcoming theme of the next three Star Wars movies. In the interview, Kennedy stated,

“The Saga Films focus on the Skywalker Family saga. The stories follow a linear narrative that connects to the previous six films. The Force Awakens follows Return of the Jedi and continues the generational story.”

Okay, so it may not be the specific spoiler to end all spoilers, but it should comfort you to know that any crazy rumor living on the internet doesn’t have a chance of surviving. It also has to be great to have a piece of information that’s actually been confirmed. Something else that’s important is that Kennedy used the words “generational story” meaning that there is a strong inclination that audiences are going to get a story about someone’s kids. The most likely scenario is that we’ll see the adventures of Leia and Han’s children, but who’s to say Luke didn’t have a kid or two along the way as well?

Whatever happens, we’ll see it soon enough.

Star Wars The Force Awakens premieres December 18.
