Celebrities walking the convention floor is a fun part of any convention, but some celebrities tend to be mobbed after a few minutes. That can lead to safety issues as well as grind a section of the convention floor to a halt. Many actors don masks to walk the convention to get the feel of the convention and just enjoy themselves without having to deal with the mob. NYCC15 had a few don masks, notably Mark Ruffalo (Hulk) and Jared Leto (The Joker). How did they manage to mingle with the masses without causing mayhem?
Mark Ruffalo posted these pictures to his Instagram page:
Had a great time at #comiccon2015 NYC! Thanks ComicCon for the Hospitality. A photo posted by Mark Ruffalo (@markruffalo) on
Leto posted this one:
Then he tweeted this picture, I bet that Joker cosplayer’s Facebook page is blowing up right now. Do you think he might have known?
NerdBastards reader Walter Johnson was there in an awesome Superman cosplay and grabbed this picture with Leto. *He know who it was underneath!
Those are much better masks than most celebrities end up with and look pretty comfortable. I kinda wish that they had gone full Myth Buster Adam Savage on their costumes though. I can understand why they didn’t, but I imagine they could have had a lot of fun, but then again they were trying to avoid attracting attention.
Hint: If someone is just in a mask… they might be someone just trying to enjoy the convention, but it wouldn’t hurt to just say hi and hear their voice…:)
