A we continue onward to Ben Affleck’s solo Batman movie, which recently cast Joe Manganiello as lead villain Deathstroke, DC fans have taken to the internet to petition for Shia LaBeouf to play one of  DCEU’s most talked about characters. Read more after the jump petition has shown up online, requesting for Zack Snyder and and Geoff Johns to cast LaBeouf as none other than Jason Todd, a.k.a the former Robin, who in the comics later goes on to become the violent, anti-hero vigilante known as The Red Hood, a character arc that many have speculated could very well play out onscreen in the future DCEU films.

Currently the petition only has about 767 supporters, and of course it doesn’t have any actual affect  on the casting process for the role, if there even are any plans  to bring Jason Todd to life.

The beloved comic book character was first confirmed to be in the DCEU when Batman v Superman featured a brief shot of Bruce Wayne looking  mournfully at an old Robin costume, which was spray painted on by the Joker, hinting that Jason Todd’s unfortunate fate as Robin has already happened by the time we meet Wayne in Dawn of Justice.

This was later confirmed by Suicide Squad director David Ayer as well, who not only told fans that it was indeed Todd’s old Robin costume, but also clarifying that he was killed by Jared Leto’s Joker.

LaBeouf, is an interesting choice for the role as he would assuredly bring out Todd’s unhinged, angry, and resentful post-resurrection attitudewith ease if he were to get the role. Of course fans are taking into account his his instability on set and past behind-the-scenes drama on films, along Shia LaBeouf revealing being in initial talks  with director David Ayer to play the role in Suicide Squad, and how he was turned down by Warner Bros. for being “too crazy.” So it might be a bit far-fetched, to believe it may be considered, but let’s do a toast for the possibilities. Sound off below would Shia LaBeouf make a good Red Hood, and if not LaBeouf, who would you cast as Jason Todd?
