With Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2 set to premiere next weekend, all eyes have seemed to shift towards the next big Marvel project. It was learned earlier that the fourth installment of the Avengers series will be shot separately from Avengers: Infinity War. However, what has many people buzzing is how Marvel is keeping it’s lips tight regarding the title of the movie. But it seems like Zoe Saldana may have missed the memo regarding staying hush hush about the title because she may have inadvertently let it slip during a red carpet interview for the GOTG Vol. 2 premiere. What could she have said that has some fans raising their eyebrows? Instead of calling it Avengers 4, you might want to start calling it by the actual title – Avengers: Infinity Gauntlet.

Okay, before you dive more into the thick of things, here is the clip that has everyone talking.

In the clip above, Saldana refers to the second film as “Gauntlet.” Many have just assumed that the word fits into the convenient title of “Avengers: Infinity Gauntlet.” It does make perfect sense, though, for people to quickly assume that this is the name of the next Avengers film because it’s the same name of the 1991 epic told by Jim Starlin with George Perez and Ron Lim bringing things to life. In the six-issue story arc known as Thanos: The Infinity Gauntlet, Thanos finally assembles the stones within the gauntlet and ends up killing roughly half of the Marvel Universe in an instant. However, gets ahead of himself when he turns himself into the living embodiment of the universe. Doing so, he leaves his body, thus making him vulnerable. Nebula becomes the hero of the day as she removes the gauntlet from Thanos and restores everything to how it once was.

Now in case you didn’t know, Marvel didn’t want anyone to know what the title of the fourth Avengers movie was because it was said to be a major spoiler. With that in mind, one could make the argument that Avengers: The Infinity Gauntlet isn’t the title of the fourth Avengers movie. First of all, there have been a ton of promotional pictures with Thanos and the Infinity Gauntlet housing all the stones. No spoiler there. Second, it’s hard not to consider that a large population of the people seeing these movies are already big comic book fans. By naming it after The Infinity Gauntlet, there isn’t much to spoil because fans would have already known how things worked out in that scenario.

So if it’s not The Infinity Gauntlet, what could the title of Avengers 4 be? Some suggestions include “The Avengers Take Manhattan” or “Avengers FOURever.” Whatever the title of Avengers 4 will be, it looks like Saldana’s “slip” may have been nothing but a code word to reference the film. Avengers: The Infinity War has already begun shooting in Atlanta, GA and is scheduled for release on May 4, 2018.

Meanwhile, Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2 flies into theaters on May 5.
