When Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. first premiered, it wasn’t the greatest thing to hit the digital airwaves. There was definitely some speculation if it would survive or not. As the story continued and episodes went by, the show got better and better. By the season two mid-season finale, fans who had believed in the show since day one were finally rewarded when the show hit it’s full potential. Since then, the show has gone full steam ahead, and now it’s gearing up for season three. Speaking of gearing up, the big news today is that photos were finally released revealing the new look that Skye (Chloe Bennet) will be taking on as a new era for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. begins

We know that season three will be all about the “Secret Warriors.” One of the major players of those warriors in the comics was Quake a.k.a. Daisy Johnson. So, of course, getting the look right was something that the show runners found to be important.

The person charged with the task of creating the looks for Quake was costume designer Ann Foley. Her other credit’s also include working on Mockingbird’s (Adrian Palicki) suit as well as Deathlok’s (J. August Richards) armor. Foley and Bennet actually worked together on the look for Quake. Here’s what Foley had to say regarding the creation of Quake’s outfit,

“It’s about strength. She feels very empowered in it…. That’s what was important to me, that she felt empowered to me. I wanted to stay true to some of the designs I saw in the comics. In the style lines, I wanted to pay a little bit of a tribute to her tactical ability from last season, but we also incorporated the Quake symbol into her gauntlets and on the back of her suit.”

Here’s a full body shot of the Quake costume:

Here are some additional shots comparing the front and the back:

If you ask me, the costume looks pretty good and comes as close as you can get without it looking cartoon-like. The most important feature of Quake’s outfit is her gauntlets. In many illustrations, they’re over-sized and exaggerated. You can’t really do that for a television show. No one would take it seriously, and it wouldn’t be realistic. These test shots show a really sleek design. If this is any indication of what to expect for season three, then fans are in line for some amazing things to come.

What do you think of Quake’s costume? Did they do her justice?
