French science-fiction hasn’t had too much luck with international cinematic releases: from the gloriously jumbled mess that was the Fifth Element, all the way to the recent toss-up that was Immortelle, French science fiction comic books hasn’t managed to stick with audiences. It could be the large concentration of nudity, the weird approach they take toward implementing religion in their stories or just their shaky morality play, but this latest adaptation might actually stand a chance…

Team Cap Goes All Out In Brand-New Civil War Footage

War is coming for the MCU, ready to kick off Phase Three and all the cosmic hullabaloo that entails. Civil War is definitely going to be one of the most ambitious Marvel superhero films we’ve seen so far and Disney are doing their best to keep the hype-train rolling until May 6th, when we can finally get to enjoy the cinematic brawl. And judging by the recently revealed footage that was shown during the MTV Music Awards, this is going to be one heck of a ride…

If we have to be perfectly honest, we think it’s weird it didn’t happen sooner. Game Of Thrones took the entirety of nerdom (and a whole lot of normies) along for one heck of a ride since its very first aired episode and its high production values, as well as its associated publication drama, would give it tons of points to go over and add to the show’s already huge hype. Apparently, HBO thought so too, six years into the most successful grim and gritty fantasy series ever, which led them to announce…

Let’s get something out of the way first: the New Mutants never had much luck when it came to live-action adaptations. With a blemish like the 90’s cringeworthy Generation X on their resume (one of FOX‘s earlier attempts to bring superheroes into the mainstream), you’d think they wouldn’t really try and bring back that particular team of teenage mutants, despite the considerable nerd-mythos that Chris Claremont has already set up. However, following Deadpool‘s success, the studio seem to be willing to give this mutant reboot another go…

To paraphrase the author E.A. Bucchianeri:

“You can kill a superhero crossover movie quicker by your silence than by a bad review.”

Dawn Of Justice got a lot of good word of mouth going for it, with nerds praising it to high heaven after some early screenings, while stay-at-home critics in Rotten Tomatoes gave it a series of scathing reviews and a solid 33% score, very eloquently calling the film:

“a grim whirlwind of effects-driven action”

But we guess that the internet talks while box office walks, especially considering the massive success of the film this opening weekend…

The Star Wars Expanded Universe has been a thorn in many a nerd’s side for years now. Ever since Disney pretty much uprooted the existing franchise, kicking off a brand-new series with The Force Awakens, many diehard fans have been wondering whether we’ll ever get another chance to look deeper into the cosmology and setting of the long-ago galaxy, far far away. Thankfully, the Rogue One initiative seems to be taking the first step to expanding to new mediums, after announcing their releases coming this Fall…

Batman-v-Superman-Dawn-of-Justice-Teaser-Posters-0Dawn Of Justice is coming to give us the DCU superhero pow-wow we’ve all been waiting for and nerds everywhere are pumped but worried about the film having way too many characters featured to begin with. I mean don’t get us wrong, we love us an ultra-crossover as much as anyone, but with Doomsday, General Zod and (possibly) Bizzaro #1 already in the roster, we can’t help but worry that the 2-and-a-half-hour runtime might stretch the film way too thin. At least Zack Snyder seems to agree with this point, if the recently released interview tidbit is anything to go by…

You Bet We’ll Hear About Him: Luke Cage Teaser Is Up!

Luke-Cage-Teaser-700x300

The Hero For Hire isn’t exactly a newcomer to the Marvel Netflix Universe, what with him already having made waves on his guest appearances both in Jessica Jones and Daredevil. The toughest man of Hell’s Kitchen is finally confirmed to be getting his own show, if the newest spoiler-free teaser is anything to go by…   (more…)

New ‘Warcraft’ TV Spot Promises More PvP Action

Warcraft-Title-550x297

Honestly, it’s strange that Blizzard didn’t try this sooner. World Of Warcraft is the leading MMORPG of our times, sporting a fanbase of millions of nerds who have devoted impossibly long hours into the game and would probably buy every last bit of merchandise that the almighty vidyagame titan would squeeze out of it. In what seems to be a nice little gameplay reference, the lastest TV spot for the upcoming film seems to be focusing on the PvE side of things…

Civil War’s latest trailer made huge waves in the global nerd scene. Coupled with Robert Downey Junior‘s recent consideration of giving up his iconic Iron Man role means that Captain America: Civil War needs to give us the biggest, meanest, most over-the-top MCU pow-wow yet. The cast and creative team seem to be taking all this performance anxiety rather well, all things considered, what with their recent teases and some of the behind-the-scenes hijinks that we’ve been hearing about…
