Christopher Nolan is the silent type. He likes to keep a bit of secrecy and mystery regarding his film projects, but today the director let two big pieces of information slip in regards to the next Batman movie for Warner Bros.

In the tease of a more lengthy interview on the LA Times’ Hero Complex blog, Nolan confirmed that the title of the next Christian Bale-starring Batman movie will be “The Dark Knight Rises.” And as for who the titular superhero will rise up to defeat, “It won’t be the Riddler,” Nolan said, noting that many characters from his previous Bat-films would appear in “The Dark Knight Rises” to help complete the trilogy. The film was previously given a release date of July 20, 2012.

Nolan also discussed his plan to stay away from 3D for the film and focus on other film techniques that can utilize the IMAX format.
