Bryan Cranston spent most of his time in this on set visit teaching Entertainment Tonight Canada how to roar like Godzilla. Which is just about the only thing worth watching for most Godzilla fans. It’s actually kind of frustrating when you think about it. Entertainment Tonight gets all kinds of great access to the production and the incredible actors involved and still cranks out what must be the fluffiest of fluff pieces. Nobody expects any earth-shattering news from one of these pieces, but at least make the attempt.

Cranston does tell of his childhood love for Godzilla, one that many of us can understand, but soon after they go into the standard quick run through of actors involved and one liners about how wonderful it was to work on the film.

There’s even a clip of Cranston from Breaking Bad, because out there, somewhere, is that one person who has no idea that Cranston starred in and won numerous awards for his work on that show, or perhaps they just couldn’t believe that anyone would recognize Cranston with hair.

OK, STOP. Take a deep breath . . . take another. Sorry about that, almost got carried away.

Cranston heads the cast that includes Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Elizabeth Olsen, Juliette Binoche, and David Strathairn. Director Gareth EdwardsGodzilla roars its way onto theater screens May 16th.

An epic rebirth to Toho’s iconic Godzilla, this spectacular adventure pits the world’s most famous monster against malevolent creatures who, bolstered by humanity’s scientific arrogance, threaten our very existence.
