There’s still a few weeks until the world premiere of Captain America: Civil War, but numbers have already begun to surface, and to no one’s surprise, they are big…very big. The initial reports are saying that the movie will open with around $175 Million. However, when everything is factored in (word of mouth and other advertising), the potential for this movie could go as high as $200+ Million.

Having looked at the release schedule for May 6, there is no doubt that this movie will be the number one movie at the box office when it premieres. And there is a good chance it will continue to be the number one movie up until May 27 when X-Men Apocalypse premieres. Even then, based on early thoughts about that movie, Civil War could still  end up being number one.

If the movie does make it’s $175 Million mark, that would make it the fifth-highest ranked movie opening putting it behind Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Jurassic World, and both Avengers movies.

box office mojo top five weekend open
Numbers aside, this is still the beginning of the an amazing movie season for nerds. After this, there’s still an X-Men movie (as mentioned before), as well as another Star Wars movie, Suicide Squad, and Doctor Strange to mention a few. So make sure you get those tickets now because they’ll definitely sell out.

Captain America: Civil War hits theaters on May 6.
