Everyone knows that 2016 is huge for Captain America. He will once again be found on the big scree with the release of Captain America: Civil War. Fans are anticipating the highly emotional battle between Captain and some of his counter parts from the Avengers. But that isn’t the only screen fans will see the ‘Cap” featured on. To celebrate his 75th Anniversary, ABC has decided to air a special celebration.

Created during World War II by Joe Simon and Jack Kirby, two first generation Jewish-Americans from New York, , Captain America became a moral compass for the world to follow. He has taught people to believe in themselves, to do better, both for self and others and to make the world better by your actions. Captain America has always been known for fighting for his beliefs whether that means leading the Avengers or fighting against them. Marvel fans have celebrated the Captain’s leadership since the beginning.

ABC has decided to join in on the celebration. Marvel’s Captain America: 75 Heroic Years will air on Tuesday, January 19th at 8 PM ET/PT. There will, of course, be a multitude of familiar faces. Chris Evans, the big screen ‘Captain” himself, will make an appearance as will costar Hayley Atwell. Fans will also see other Marvel Studios figures such as Louis D’Esposito and legend Stan Lee. Fans of Agents of Shield will see cast members Clark Gregg, Ming-Na Wen and Chloe Bennet.

As if all that weren’t enough, Marvel Comics has dropped hints about an exclusive announcement to be aired during the special. So for fans who thought they were going to have to wait until May to see the Captain again, ABC just made everyone’s New Year.
