First-person shooters are an absolute blast to play … get it?

But, what people don’t know, is that there is a serious disease that you can get from playing a first-person shooter (FPS) video game. It is known as moto-neuro de-mylenation, or in layman’s terms – Duke Nukem’s disease.

Meet Gene Simkins, a normal 33 year-old with a large problem that doesn’t get nearly as much media attention as it should. Gene can only move his arms and hands the way people in FPSes can, by swaying them back and forth as he runs or walks. Even everyday obstacles like climbing steps and walking through a door is a challenge.

And you don’t even want to know what happens if he encounters a glitch.

Watch the video below the jump, and help raise awareness for Duke Nukem disease. Together, we can find a cure – which I strongly believe lies behind a secret and locked blue key door.
