This year’s MTV Movie Awards revealed all sorts of secrets. From additional glimpses at the upcoming Captain America: Civil War movie to Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find them, MTV did not disappoint. (One can argue MTV not playing music videos continuously disappoints.) A behind the scenes look reared its head for Kong: Skull Island. Set in the Vietnam conflict era, it has a star cast including Samuel L. Jackson and John Goodman. For people interested in an origins story this movie might tickle their fancy. This film is rumored to honor Kong films of the past and create a new distinct timeline. Check out the video below to catch a glance of of the cast and crew of this film.

This film has a couple of things going for it.

First the cast is excellent. Seeing Tom Hiddleston playing a British Special Service Air Officer will be a treat for fans. Award winning actress Brie Larson plays a photojournalist. Jason Mitchell takes on a role of a helicopter pilot bringing the cast to Skull Island. It will be interesting to see what kind of chemistry will show on screen. After the disappointing film Crimson Peak, movie goers look forward to seeing Loki from Thor and Avengers movies sink his teeth into another role.

Max Borenstein who wrote the 2014 Godzilla and Minority Report joined up with several other writers on the script for Kong: Skull Island. Max knows monsters and is writing the screenplay for Godzilla 2.

The only question has to remain with the director Jordan Vogt-Roberts. He directed an adventure drama called The Kings of Summer and Cocked a TV film. It is possible he can deliver but the jury is out on this movie. No matter how good of a cast you have, the director makes or breaks a film. You can re-watch the new Fantastic 4 reboot to understand what happens when a director does not deliver.
