The rumors have been flying around the Internet about Paul Rudd reading for the title role in Edgar Wright‘s Ant-Man. Many have wondered if Rudd could pull off a serious superhero role, but then again, he might not have to. The latest casting call for Ant-Man roles includes a heavy dose of required comedic skills. Who do you think fits the bill for these Ant-Man roles?
Breakdown Express has the listings of role and what Wright is looking for:
The young girl role could be Cassie Lang, the daughter of Scott Lang. He is the engineer who breaks into Hank Pym’s lab and steals the Ant-Man gear. He later uses the Ant-Man gear to rescue his daughter from the bad guys who forced him to break into Pym’s lab in the first place. Lang then returns the suit to Pym, who tells Lang to keep the suit, he’s become a hero after all.
Those roles kind of fit that story line pretty well. Wright is great at directing comedic action movies and this casting call shows he isn’t going to pull a “Nolan” on us, changing his directing style and going all serious and dark on us. I for one, am happy to see this bit of news, not every superhero movie should be dark and brooding. Leave that to Batman.
What do you think? Any actors jumping out at you when you look at those casting requirements?
