Improve Everywhere: STAR WARS on a Subway Car

If you’re not familiar with Improv Everywhere, it’s a group of New Yorkers who perform on the streets of New York. Back in May, the comedy troup tickled the collective nerd taint with their ‘Ghostbusters’ sketch “Who You Gonna Call?”

Recreating the opening scene from ‘Ghostbusters’ wasn’t enough for the performance art group, because the funny bastards are back with another sci-fi prank. This time they invaded a New York City subway car, treating passengers to a reenactment of the first Princess Leia/Darth Vader scene from Star Wars.

Improv Everywhere staged the scene after being inspired by a New York City subway car. “The white walls and sliding doors on the train reminded us of the rebel ship from the movie, and we thought it would be fun to see how people would react to a surprise appearance by the iconic characters.”
