nerdy alphabet blocks

Every day the internet produces an astounding amount of goodies and gems. Most hilarious, some amusing, but all worth at least a few seconds of your time. We here at Nerd Bastards try to bring you the best bits of news and nerdery the webz has to offer, with a bit of snark thrown in. But sometimes not everything makes the cut. Monday through Friday we’ll be bringing you our inbox leftovers, our forgotten bookmarks, the nerdy bits that simply slipped through the cracks. You can submit items to Nerdy Bits by emailing us at

ABOVE: Super nerdy dad Jonathan G. made these nerd inspired alphabet blocks for his son. The blocks include everything from Ada Lovelace to zombies. Here’s hoping Jonathan finds a way to mass produce these so that he can sell them at an affordable cost. I know a lot of nerdy babies (and parents) who would love these. [Nerd Approved

Separately, the bundles cost you $150, but you can purchase them together for a $280. [Technabob]

many faces of lara croft small

These are the incarnations of Lara Croft that I will always remember. I spent hours playing Tomb Raider as a junior and senior in high school. Lara was what I wanted to be when I grew up. Over the years, Tomb Raider’s face has changed and Halloween Costumes has captured all of her incarnations in one incredible infographic. See the full image at Kotaku.

If Batman and Catwoman can have a go, why not Batman and Harley Quinn? This super elegant (and yet nerdy) ring was designed by Tom Sayers, whose wife’s favorite comic is Batman. [Fashionably Geek]

Using his knowledge of superheroes and a ton of research on ancient Egypt, artist Josh Ln created these imaginative “Hero-glyphics.” To purchase prints and see more of Ln’s work, check out Society6. [cnet]

We all know that Tyler Durden wasn’t actually in this scene, it was all in the Narrator’s mind, but seeing this pivotal scene without Durden really drives home the insanity of Edward Norton’s character. [io9]

Andrew Lincoln and Nick Santonastasso get together to zombie prank my boyfriend Norman Reedus (what, a girl can dream!). [Buzzfeed]

This absolutely epic (and lengthy) video showcases every start screen from every single Nintendo game ever – yes, that’s right, I said ‘ever.’ If you’ve got 3 hours, give it a watch for some serious nostalgia. [Wired]
