New images from last night’s filming of Marc Webb’s The Amazing Spider-Man in New York City show some of what we’ll be seeing when the film releases. They are standard action stills, showing the wires that Spidey uses to jump crazy distances and climb to amazing heights. In the final image, it appears that Spidey has had it with all this saving the city business (pictured above). With the wire, it looks like Spidey has hung himself. Obviously on closer examination, he is just held by the back and attempting to curl up for one of his usual flippy moves. I wish I could do that, but do not wish to hang myself (unless the movie is really, really bad…). Check out a gallery of set pics after the jump :
The film stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Rhys Ifans, Denis Leary, Campbell Scott, Irrfan Khan, Martin Sheen, and Sally Field. The film is directed by Marc Webb from a screenplay by James Vanderbilt and Alvin Sargent and Steve Kloves based on the Marvel Comic Book by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko. Laura Ziskin, Avi Arad, and Matt Tolmach are producing the Marvel Entertainment production for Columbia Pictures.
The final plot is also unknown as of yet, but rumors say that it will focus around Peter Parker / Spider-Man developing is abilities while in high school. We know that Lizard/Dr. Curt Connors will be our villain, and that it is likely that multiple films will be made. Emma Stone (Gwen Stacy) has signed on for multiple films, and the green light (not to confused with the Green Goblin) has been given for a sequel, at least for now. The release date is July 3rd, 2012, so if Spidey does decide to throw in the towel, he has plenty of time to do so.
