New ‘Who’ Companion to Join Clara and Capaldi?

It may seem too soon to already begin discussing Doctor Who post-Matt Smith, but with only the Christmas special yet to go the Fall of the Eleventh is near. Once The Doctor regenerates into Peter Capaldi, Clara will continue to travel with him, but she may not be alone.

Rumors suggest the Twelfth Doctor and Clara (Jenna Coleman) will be joined by another companion, a male companion, who we may have already met. Remember Tom? The school teacher who told Clara her Doctor had called?

For whatever reason, Tom is the current front runner for most likely new Who companion. And it’s a rumor actor Tristan Beint is only fanning,

I’ll admit, a few tweets aren’t much to go off, but the chance of having two Coal Hill teachers again as The Doctor’s companions might just be too good for Steven Moffat to pass up. What do you think? Will we see another companion join up in Series 8? Will it be Tristan Beint?

Speaking of Series 8, and specifically Capaldi’s Doctor, Moffat recently teased what we can expect from the new Doctor to Flicks and the City,

He’s a genius. He is a genius actor. That’s not even controversial to say. He’s got a great love of the part. The moment you think of Peter Capaldi and that face in the TARDIS, that works and everybody gets that.

He’s going to give us a whole new kind of Doctor. We’ve got used to two brilliant iterations of the younger, more popular Doctor and they have both been superlative, but now it’s time for the old beast to snarl at you for a bit!

Sometimes you see that a bit in Matt Smith’s Doctor. He will remind the people around him, ‘I’m not really like this.’ But I think Peter’s Doctor will make that even clearer.

Hmm, a fiercer Doctor, one who’s more abbrassive, yeah… I can see him travelling with a couple of Coal Hill teachers, can you?
