To mark the 50th anniversary of the assassination of JFK, and to promote X-Men: Days of Future Past, Fox has released this short teaser, along with a website, that cleverly links Magneto to a new theory about the revered president’s death.

Obviously a play on the “Magic Bullet” theory that’s constantly associated with JFK’s death, the site and teaser speak of a “Bent Bullet” theory, in which they allege that the mutant used his powers to alter the direction of Lee Harvey Oswald’s bullet to kill the president. The site asks fans the question of whether or not they think he’s innocent of the crime, likely to prepare fans for a more “misunderstood” Magneto.

I’m not sure where they are looking to take this, or how it really fits into the movie’s storyline, but it’s an interesting thought nonetheless. It’s also worth noting that, on the site, Lehnsherr claims his innocence, and possibly hints at another familiar face, Mystique, being the person truly responsible for the crime.

Check out the site for yourself here, and let us know what you think in the comments. What effect do you think this will have on the upcoming Days of Future Past?
