Very soon Craig Gillespie will be signed as director for the film adaptation of Seth Grahame-Smith‘s classic zombie-killing romance, Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. The novel, if you’re unaware,  is an integration of martial arts intense action scenes and hordes of undead into the beloved Jane Austin classic about stubborn lovers. It’s awesome. And the film has been rumored to be beginning production many times, all to no avail. At one point Natalie Portman had been attached to star as the zombie-slaying Elizabeth Bennet, but sadly that didn’t come to fruition. Now with a director attached, one whose credits include Lars and the Real Girl and recently wrapping up on Fright Night, starring Anton Yelchin, Colin Farrel and David Tennant, this project might actually get moving.

Now to start speculating about who they’ll be casting! I would love to see Keira Knightley in the role of Elizabeth. She’s already played the role, marveously, in 2005’s Pride and Prejudice and we know she can kick ass in an action movie; Domino, the Pirates trilogy, King Arthur. Who do think would make a great 18th century kicker of zombie ass?
