When there’s no official news coming out of the Disney Star Wars Production Camp, we can expect the Internet rumors to flare up just like brush fires during a bad drought. This time around the word is that Ian McDiarmid, Emperor Palpatine himself is returning to the Star Wars Universe.

When we last saw the Emperor he was falling down a deep shaft in the second Death Star after Vader picked up and chucked the Emperor Pro-Wrestling style. Could the Emperor have lived through that, or perhaps his return will come from the expanded Star Wars Universe in which the Emperor had the ability to transfer his consciousness to a clone body of himself. The Emperor did have ties to some of the best cloners of the Galaxy after all.

Jedi News is reporting the rumor and after they stated what their un-named source said, they quickly threw in a grain of salt saying:

The specifics of the role are unclear, but it seems likely that McDiarmid will be returning to his signature role of Palpatine. Whether as the original or a clone of, we are yet to discern.

Remember, until confirmed by Lucasfilm this us just a rumour. They are the ONLY people who can confirm this rumour report, or any other.

What do you think? I’m thinking it could be the clone thing or perhaps just the Emperor’s Guard is going to do the Young Jedi books thing were they use computers to simulate the Emperor.

Why is Disney being so silent about what’s going on behind the scenes? Let us know what you think in the comments section below.
