There’s news, and then there’s not so news. It’s not the news fault, sometimes it’s just a matter of size. No matter how much this news worked the “motion in the ocean,” or tried those “How you use it,” moves . . . it’s just not satisfying. Nothing would be worse than leaving you, The Reader, unsatisfied. So NerdBastards, in it’s attempt to keep you, The Reader, as satisfied and sated as possible we have decided to overwhelm you with small tidbits of Superhero news. Wave after wave of small flicks of news, building into a crescendo of sweaty, satisfying news. I’ll meet you at the end of the post and we’ll can have a cuddle or maybe a smoke if that’s your thing.

Howard Stern Says Lex Luthor and Miss Teschmacher in ‘Superman’:

Howard Stern of all people is making the claim that Lindsey Lohan is reading for a role in Zack Snyder‘s Superman movie. Rumor has it she is up for the Miss Teschmacher role. I find it unlikely because Miss Teschmacher is only found in the first two Superman movies. She has never been a character in the comics and was created for the Richard Donner’s movies. Although it would be a nod to Donner I’d prefer that they use the Mercy Graves character instead of Miss Teschmacher. Graves was created for the animated series and made the cross over to comics soon after.

Zach Snyder on Working With Christopher Nolan:

Empire was able to catch up with Zack Snyder while he was promoting Sucker Punch to talk a little bit about what it was like to work with Christopher Nolan on The Man Of Steel.

“Chris has been amazingly generous with me. He’s making [The Dark Knight Rises] but he takes time if we’re knocking around ideas for the script. We’ll all sit around in a room, beat it around and try to figure it out. He knows what its like to make a movie, and he wants us to just make the best movie we can. He is interested in helping out with out messing up the process, and I think that’s amazingly generous of him.”

Snyder’s take on Batman Superman Fight:

“I have no had the conversation with him, I don’t think he would enter into that conversation. I will ask him next time and see what he says. He will be like ‘why did you ask that? That makes no sense.’ Superman is a superbeing and Batman is just a guy. So unless he has some sort of other weapon. Then he said sarcastically, “Yea but if he had like a Kryptonite arrow of something.”

Yeah if he had a Kryptonite arrow of something,“. I’m guessing he hasn’t read The Dark Knight Returns graphic novel, go figure arrows indeed. KRYPTONITE BOXING GLOVES!

When asked about the villain in the Superman movie:

“I can’t, I wish I coud. We are working on that right now.”

Henry Cavill On Amy Adams’ Lois Lane and The 10 Year Age Difference:

The Superman actor talks in detail about how the comic books will influence his performance as the Man of Steel and comments on Amy Adams as Lois Lane, including the fact that she’s a decade older than him…

“I’m just picking out as much as I possibly can from the comic book history because obviously it’s plastered across there as to who this man is and whatever part of his life you’re playing; whatever part of his ultimate journey you’re playing, you just need to put in either the building aspects, the building blocks to how he ends up, all those key characteristics that are carried through and so it’s just picking up a general idea of what he is and then working from there.”

“Yes, there was a screen test and she’s a fantastic actress. Very talented. I’m looking forward to working with her. To be honest, that’s a question for the director. But, happenstance. I don’t think it matters at all.”

I think it adds some added spice to the relationship. With all his powers he is still just a guy who loves a woman a little older than himself, ask Ashton Kutcher how that goes …

Green Lantern: Rise of the Manhunters Video Game

The inevitable video game tie in for the Green Lantern movie showed some screen shots at Wondercon and the theme is taking a lot from Green Lantern: Rise of the Manhunters story line. All the fun Lantern ring things seem to be present with giant fists, machine guns, force fields and hopefully other fun lantern ring constructs.  Warner Bros. served up a closer look at the upcoming title with new screen shots demonstrating the construct might of Hal Jordan, Sinestro and Kilowog as the tear through the Guardians’ original robotic space cops gone bad.

The screen shots look like the game’s PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360 port, although the game will see a more cartoony release on Nintendo’s Wii, DS and 3DS systems. If the Wii version is as different as SEGA’s Thor: God of Thunder and Captain America: Super Soldier’s titles form their higher-end console counterparts, it will be interesting to see what Warner Bros. has cooked up when Rise of the Manhunters arrives on June 7.
