Every day the internet produces an astounding amount of goodies and gems. Most hilarious, some amusing, but all worth at least a few seconds of your time. We here at Nerd Bastards try to bring you the best bits of news and nerdery the webz has to offer, with a bit of snark thrown in. But sometimes not everything makes the cut. Monday through Friday we’ll be bringing you our inbox leftovers, our forgotten bookmarks, the nerdy bits that simply slipped through the cracks. You can submit items to Nerdy Bits by emailing us at nerdybits@nerdbastards.com.

ABOVE: Darth Talon. A Sith amazingly (and NSFWly) rendered in full 3D by darthhell, while she may not technically part of the ‘expanded universe’ it’s safe to say something expanded. In my pants. [Obvious Winner]

Samuel Lee of Prince Armory, a professional armorer has created this incredible Batman, all-leather suit of medieval armor. I’m simply speechless at how amazing this is. Who want to see a movie about Batman, the real Dark KNIGHT, now? (TDW: Geek)

Star Tours reopens for business in Disneyland this Friday. Start booking your flights now, and plan for an extended stay. You’ll be needing all the time you’ve got to fully enjoy all 54 possible adventures. Yup, 54! They include excursions to Tatooine, Hoth, Naboo, Coruscant, Kashyyyk and an under construction Death Star. Besides simply touring the planets you can also be thrown in to a desert pod race or dodging trees as you speed through a forest.

Expect to see lots of familar face, Star Tours will include appearances by Darth Vader, Admiral Ackbar, Princess Leia, Boba Fett, Chewbacca, R2-D2, Yoda, C-3PO and Jar Jar Binks. Not sure how Leia is making an appearance, I can only assume it’ll be old footage from the movies. And Jar Jar, well, can’t say we didn’t see that one coming. Frank Oz and Anthony Daniels also returned to voice their respective characters.

But why am I telling you all this crap, watch the new commercial below to get a little peak at the new Star Tours. Whose gonna be the lucky one first in line this Friday?

Admiral Ackbar Wants Me To What?

He may know “it’s a trap” but that doesn’t mean he won’t ram into it with all he’s got, he’s an Admiral after all.

Admiral Ackbar may be a puppet to us normal folk, but in Star Wars he is the smoothest Mon Calamarian in the entire universe. In this behind-the-scenes footage from Return of the Jedi, Admiral Ackbar’s puppeteer (Whoa, I always thought Ackbar was performed by a dude in a mask, rather than a puppet) decided to practice his lines in a purposely perverted manner. At least I think it was purposeful. Then again, there were no double entendres or inflection in his speech to indicate immaturity. Maybe people just like hearing themselves say “penetrate”. A mantra we should all live by perhaps?

This must be how Lando got so smooth, either that or the Colt 45 in his bloodstream.
