I love the build-up to next week’s E3 (the Electronic Entertainment Expo), when studio’s begin to release information about games that will be coming out/announced in the next year.
We’ve had a new Gears of War 3 trailer, details on Mass Effect 3, and a whole host of information on new games …. such as SEGA‘s new sci-fi shooter, Aliens: Colonial Marines.
Picking up after the events of Alien 3, the game follows marines heading back to the planet LV-426, and the abandoned ship U.S.S. Sulaco (the ships featured in the movie), to investigate what happened to the crew there, including Elanor Ripley.
According SEGA, the story “begins with an ostensibly abandoned ship, the U.S.S. Sulaco, recovered in orbit around LV-426. Players lead a group of highly trained United States Colonial Marines as they board the deserted craft to uncover the fate of the crew. They will have to fight to survive unspeakable horrors and their own anxieties as they chase down the truth behind a galaxy-spanning deception that places humanity at the mercy of the most murderous and deadly species in the universe. Aliens: Colonial Marines features authentic environments, such as the surface of LV-426 and Hadley’s Hope, weapons inspired by the film series and is designed to provide an exhilarating and engaging new chapter in the Aliens universe.”
While no gameplay footage is available just yet, be sure to stay tuned to our coverage of E3 next week, when I’m sure SEGA will have a lot more details to show us. In the meantime, check out the teaser trailer below.
