Bryan Singer‘s latest crack at bringing Marvel’s mutants to the big screen, X-Men: Apocalypse, has its first official trailer making the Internet rounds today and there is a hell of a lot to look at. Hardcore fans might still be having issues with Apocalypse’s look, but you can’t argue that Singer is making him as big a threat as he ever was in the comics. Take a look. (more…)

Everyone knows that old adage, “Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me.”  Still, after Hugh Jackman, the one actor who has shown up in every single movie set in the X-Men world, claimed that Wolverine 3 would be his next and last appearance as that awesome Canadian mutant Wolverine, everyone seemed to take this as gospel.  Somehow, everyone managed to forget that Jackman has claimed this same thing in the past, before showing up in X-Men: Days of Future Past, then quickly contradicted himself by claiming that he would play the character until he died, if Fox let him.  If the latest rumors are correct, it appears that Jackman has fooled us all again, as it seems that Wolverine will in fact show up in X-Men: Apocalypse.  Shame on us. That Bryan Singer fella sure does love social media.  Continuing the path that he has taken to connect directly with fans for quite some time now – and ramped up even further during the production of X-Men: Days of Future Past, the director of the upcoming X-Men: Apocalypse has been giving his followers a fairly steady stream of cool photos and surprisingly-informative behind-the-scenes content.  Today we received another tidbit from him – check this crazy photo of the whole world going sideways!

Director Bryan Singer Instagramed some new concept art for X-Men: Apocalypse that may mean the introduction of a new character to the X-Men movie franchise. Wait… it’s not what you think, it isn’t that little man to the right. It’s that hulking big spaceship he is standing next to. You might be asking yourself how a spaceship might be a character in the new movie and not just a new piece of set. Well, click through and we’ll tell you. (more…)

After losing one of their own at Rape Hospital in Atlanta and seeing all hope for the end of the zombie apocalypse go up in smoke, the rag tag survivors of The Walking Dead seem to be falling on some of the worst times they’ve had since their prison home was shut down by The Governor. Of course, things are never easy for Rick Grimes and Co., but for a brief shiny moment in the fourth season there was triumph – escaping from Terminus and re-uniting – and there was hope for a better tomorrow. My, how quickly things change in about six or seven episodes. With just a couple of weeks to go till the midseason premiere, the AMC is giving us another sneak peak at what’s to come. (more…)

It seems like all I ever write about are casting rumors. They go from pure speculation to a pocket full of maybes to ultimate facts. But the roads to those revelations tend to be long and winding, like the saga of Doctor Strange. I don’t expect this news to be any worse or better – just there. So, today’s “just there” is news circulating around the geek webs about Twentieth Century Fox “courting” a relatively hot actor for the role of Apocalypse in the the sequel to ‘X-Men: Days Of Future Past.’ I’d say I was in favor the the idea, but with his last turn as a comic book baddie failing (imho), why would he even want to go there again? Who knows? It’s all rumors anyway. (more…)

X-Men: Days of Future Past was one of the most enjoyable superhero movies this year and in a landscape that pits pretty much any superhero movie against Marvel Studios, that’s saying something. Right before the release of the movie, the superhero franchise was tarnished a bit by allegations that the man behind the lens, Bryan Singer, had abused a minor years ago. Now that the suit has been dropped, 20th Century Fox is ready to get moving on their next entry in the rejuvenated X-Men franchise, and it looks like filming will begin in April of 2015. (more…)

The long, arduous wait through a film’s insanely lengthy credits for a small tease of what’s coming in a franchise’s next installment has become synonymous with the big summer blockbuster. Almost every movie offers something after or in between their credits nowadays, either a teaser or a last laugh, and when they don’t? Well, you better believe there’s usually at least a dozen disappointed movie-goers grumbling about sitting around for nothing.

After watching X-Men: Days of Future Past‘s end credit scene, however, I’m betting more than a few in the audience were saying, “What the eff was that about!?” [SPOILERS, duh.] (more…)

It was quite the bombshell (in nerd terms) when it was announced yesterday that 20th Century Fox would be releasing another X-Men film so fast on the heels of next summer’s X-Men: Days of Future Past, and it will be called X-Men: Apocalypse. So that was huge, but what can we gather now in terms of details about what this new film project will look like? One of our fellow nerd news websites thinks that they know they answer. (more…)
