There’s an interesting new Indiegogo campaign for UMW (United Weapons Master) looking to raise $100,000 to fund further development of their Lorica suit of customized intelligent combat armor (Named after the Roman Legion armor). Currently the campaign has raised over $40,000 in 8 days. The plan is to create a whole new venue for martial and weapons artists to safely display their full contact fighting talents for fighting fans around the globe. As our favorite Starship Trooper media guy might ask: Would you like to know more? (more…)

Over the course of Iron Man’s adventures in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Tony Stark has worn several different suits. At the end of The Avengers Iron Man got a new suit of armor and in Iron Man 3 he’ll be wearing yet another one. Soo…which suit is this?

Geek Tyrant posted this image of Robert Downey Jr. suited up earlier today with the same query. At first you could think it was under armor, but then why does it have battle damage? And we’re only assuming this is from Iron Man 3, it could very well be something unused from The Avengers or earlier.

What are you guys thinking? Are we getting excited over nothing or has the blogosphere uncovered our first look at another Iron Man suit? posted the picture above with a short article pondering the question:

Could Pepper Potts don the Iron-Man Rescue armour in IronMan III?

Both Kevin Feige (Marvel Comics Big-shot) and Jon Favreau (IronMan Director and Happy Hogan) have in the past commented on the possibility of Gwyneth Paltrow donning the ‘Rescue’ armor in one of Marvel’s Iron Man films.

Kevin Feige:

“Everyone at this table thinks it would be the coolest thing in the world to see Pepper get in the suit at some point.”

Jon Favreau:

“We almost did it a few times, we talked about it a lot. I think we all share your enthusiasm for that, and we all want to see Gwyneth kick some ass.”

This NerdBastard could see this happening, but still thinks it’s just fan-boy fantasy for now. Are fans ready for Tony to be saved by Pepper? Perhaps the powers that be might make the Rescue armour part of some additional bonus DVD shorts to add to the IronMan mythos.

Wearing Female Armor Really Sucks

In many medieval fantasy films, the armor worn looks tough, heavy, and able to withstand some deadly blows, but this masculine armor is made just for men. Women however,  never get that luxury of choosing what they get to protect themselves in, it’s always “how sexy can you look in chain mail”. Of course showing some skin is an effective deterrent. Distraction is always a good defense, but armor doesn’t protect shit when it’s in the middle of pinching your cooch. shows how wardrobe, or lack there of, makes a female warrior life troublesome.
