It’s one of the questions that people love to ask and love to think about the answer to: what if? Many movies, novels, and TV shows have been created around that simple premise, and things get even more detailed when the question is extended to what if something that actually happened might have happened a different way? As we approach “Back to the Future Day” – October 21, 2015, the destination date that Doc Brown set the DeLorean to travel into the future (but not the film’s release anniversary date, that’s July 3, FYI) – the love-fest for the film trilogy is reaching an all-time high, and deservedly so. It also has cast and crew talking about the experience like they never have before; long silent on the topic, director and co-writer Robert Zemeckis has finally decided to share more insight on one of the most famous what if scenarios surrounding Back to the Future: what if Michael J. Fox hadn’t played the role of Marty McFly?
Back in time
The Men in Black have gone through two different adventures and are headed for a third that will take them back in time! So before we continue on to our present news, let’s take a flashback to the hayday of the 90’s. When Men In Black first debuted its hit single had people in awe of Will Smith‘s lyrical prowess. Here is a glimpse of the music video from the first film’s anthem track:
Now let’s jump back to present! Sony Pictures has released Pitbull’s single ‘Back in Time’, sorry if you didn’t catch all the hints at the title before now, this track is said to be the theme song for Men in Black 3. If you’ve never heard any of Pitbull’s music then you won’t get this jab, but usually his songs all start with the same intro: *beat* beat* ‘This is worldwide…Pitbull’ *beat*beat* (song starts) Don’t be fooled! The song picks up after Pitbull’s usual antics, and is deserving of being the Men in Black’s theme song. It stands musically on the same level as Will Smith’s theme for the first film. So check out the song below brought to you by Soundcloud:
In Men in Black 3, Agents J (Will Smith) and K (Tommy Lee Jones) are back… in time. J has seen some inexplicable things in his 15 years with the Men in Black, but nothing, not even aliens, perplexes him as much as his wry, reticent partner. But when K’s life and the fate of the planet are put at stake, Agent J will have to travel back in time to put things right. J discovers that there are secrets to the universe that K never told him — secrets that will reveal themselves as he teams up with the young Agent K (Josh Brolin) to save his partner, the agency, and the future of humankind.
Men in Black 3 arrives in 2D, 3D and IMAX 3D theaters on May 25th.
