Welcome bastards to another installment of NerdBastards’ weekly DVD Tuesday feature. We list what came out today and recommend if it’s either a BUY, RENT, or PASS.

We got another lite edition on our hands as this week we only see a few releases but they are all still worth checking out. We got two major film releases that may interest some of you. After that, we got one TV Show DVD release that has to do with a cartoon series of a certain caped crusader teaming up with other heroes. Also, this week we see the return of the Hidden Gem (or Crap) of the Week with a certain Syfy flick that already has quite the fanbase so check it out and see if you’ll become the newest fan of this damming creature.

So what are you waiting for? Check what came out after the jump and see if there is something you want!

Batman Teaming Up With Scooby Doo Again

In what could be called the greatest April fool’s day joke ever, the 1970’s are gonna be making a comeback in the form of a Batman/Scooby-Doo team up. Take a look at your calenders though, it’s still March and Mystery inc. and Gotham’s Dark Knight haven’t teamed up since 1972’s “The Dynamic Scooby-Doo Affair”. Watching Batman and Robin work together with the antics of Shaggy and Scooby must have blown more then a few minds in the decade of peace and love. Strap on your utility belts and get out those Scooby Snacks because it looks like 2011 is the year the band get back together one more time.

It’s 106 miles to Gotham, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of Scooby snacks, it’s dark… and we’re with Batman. Hit it.

On April 1st, 2011,  fans of the cowardly dog and the masked hero will have their television set to Batman: The Brave and The Bold for the crossover of the year. As part of the episode ‘Batman’s Strangest Cases’ Batman and every annoying, all-powerful Bat-Mite (Paul Reubens) takes us through some weird alternate realities. The Scooby doo portion is part of a larger scheme, done in the style of early 1970s Hanna-Barbera animation. Jumping alternate realties and only using the best mystery solvers next to Batman himself is pretty weak but it should be worth it in some way. Please use Adam West in the Hanna-Barbera universe, pretty, pretty please.

In last weeks’ episode of the TV show Batman: Brave and the Bold, entitled “The Mask of Matches Malone” the sexy ladies of the crime-fighting group The Birds of Prey found themselves in a heap of trouble on a stage in front of an amnesiac Batman. What is a girl crime-fighting team to do?

So, they did the only thing one could do: Sing.

And not some little ditty making fun of a popular Broadway song. No, they decided to spill all sorts of dirty little secrets from the bedroom about their male counterparts. Some of the stuff, in light of the Elmo vs. Katy Perry controversy, seems pretty racy for a kid’s show. I mean, poor Aquaman and Flash! I’m sure they deserved it, but OUCH.

Watch the video below for some delightfully nasty and sexual innuendo-filled comments from The Birds of Prey about male superheroes in the DC universe.
