For anyone who spent 2016 under a large boulder, you should know that it was not a good one for celebrity deaths. One of the hardest blows dished out by the annus horribillis was the double gut-punch of losing Carrie Fisher and her mother Debbie Reynolds in the space of just two miserable days. Can we please join you under the boulder? We’ll bring chips and dip. If there can be any light at the end of such a tunnel it can only be found in simple acts of kindness and compassion. Fisher’s daughter Billie Lourd has recently expressed her gratitude for all of the support she has received since the double tragedy struck. (more…)

When word first started going around that Carrie Fisher‘s daughter, Billie Lourd, would appear in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, the first conclusion that was jumped to was that she would portray a younger version of Fischer’s character Princess Leia.  Lourd was quick to squash those rumors, and the movie revealed her role to be that of  young Lieutenant Connix, who serves the resistance under the leadership of General Leia.  Lourd only had one speaking line the whole movie, but she says that won’t be the case the next time around when she returns as Lieutenant Connix for Star Wars: Episode VIII. Let’s get one thing absolutely clear:

Far as I’m concerned, ANY information regarding new Star Wars films that did not originate with a source directly connected to Disney or Lucasfilm will be treated as rumor until confirmed. That doesn’t mean leaked bits of news that pop up here and there are not necessarily accurate–only that info which cannot be traced to a reliable source should not be treated as fact.

All the cast announcements for Star Wars Episode VII have featured actors and actresses that have gone through a grueling casting process from J. J. Abrams and crew, but the newest rumor around the film is a bit surprising. It’s been said that Billie Lourd, the daughter of Carrie Fisher, has been cast in the upcoming sequel.
