Whatever you want to call Stan “The Man” Lee—innovator, genius, shameless self-promoter—there’s one word I think everyone could agree on to describe the co-creator of Marvel Comics’ Spider-Man, the Fantastic Four, the X-Men, and scores of other characters: Prolific. After conquering the American superhero comic book world in both print and film, Stan has set his eyes on yet another country to make his superhero mark: India. That’s right, Stan Lee is tackling the India Cinescape with his superhero, Chakra the Invincible. (more…)

Disney’s third Bollywood film Zokkomon is due to hit screens in India April 22nd, I’m sure we’ll see an English subtitle or dub if the money is there and the hype is working it’s Bollywood magic. Anyone else thinking Pokemon/Zokkomon, Zokkomon/Pokemon. It just keeps repeating over and over in my mind. So the story line is below, take a peek at the trailer.

Zokkomon is the thrilling and heart-warming live action adventure of an ordinary boy who finds the strength to face extraordinary challenges. Kunal, played by Darsheel Safary, is an orphaned boy, who discovers how cruel life is when he is abandoned by his heartless uncle. Left to fend for himself, Kunal discovers the hero within and begins his epic journey of adventure and transformation to become Zokkomon. In Theaters, 22nd April 2011.

What did you think? I did enjoy the scenery, and I’m sure if I spoke Hindi the whole thing would make perfect sense. From what I saw on the trailer I’m wondering if this is one of those “imagination” style movies. Does the kid have some powers or are those just the imagination of those around him after seeing and repeating ever more outrageous growing tales.

Well I tried the Hindi to English translation machine on Zokkomon hoping I might glean some tidbit of information . . . no luck. Zokkomon means Zokkomon, at least it’s no Indonesian Supergirl.

Halo: The Bollywood Musical

Oh, bless IGN‘s little hearts. For April Fools’ Day, they gave us another fake movie trailer. This time, it’s an adaptation of “Halo.” As a Bollywood musical. Yes, it’s even more awesome than you’re thinking. In fact, it’s a bit of a shame that it’s not a real movie. It would be much better than anything REAL Hollywood could crap out.

Only thing this trailer lacked, was a glorious amount of teabagging. F’N n00bz!!
