One show I don’t talk about nearly enough is USA’s Burn Notice.
It is such a cool, stylish show – sort of a Mcgyver meets The Equalizer with some Bond thrown in the mix. It has edge and attitude to burn. Seriously, I’m talking spies, explosions, makeshift tools, and Bruce Campbell!
The unique characters, fast action scenes, and wry, cynical humor are what make it such an outstanding television series. 6 seasons and running!
Oh, speaking of season 6. It premiers tonight (11/8) 9/8c on USA Network.
To celebrate the return of television bad-assery that’s been missing from your lives for the past couple months, USA is giving away a Burn Notice Party Pack. Here’s what’s up for grabs:

This past August, Evil Dead and Burn Notice star, Bruce Campbell tweeted he would be in Sami Raimi‘s adaptaion of The Wizard of Oz. In his original tweet he said: “I. Am. In. Oz. Sam refuses to tell me what character I will portray. Just know that the role is pivotal.” Apparently, his cameo in OZ: The Great and The Powerful wasn’t as pivitol as he thought, as it has been cut from the film.
You’d think the chin killa’ would be a bit hurt over the loss of his scene, but he’s a good sport about it. Here’s his latest tweet:
Guess being friends with Raimi, not to mention being a cameo in all 3 of his Spider-man movies means jack and shit. I’d expect this sort of thing to happen to Sam’s little brother Ted Raimi, but not Brucey.
Welcome bastards to another installment of NerdBastards’ weekly DVD Tuesday feature. We list what came out today and recommend if it’s either a BUY, RENT, or PASS.

You look out the window and see the night sky is an interesting kaleidoscope of purple, gold, and green; the dark swirling clouds threaten storms of untold proportions. An alien mother ship hangs ominously over the burning city in the distance, spewing laser beams and attack crafts to the ground. The zombies outside beat a steady rhythm on your front door…wait a minute, is that Betty White? In the next room the TV anchor is droning on about the meteor headed toward earth bound for impact in eight days; as if it mattered. You grab the remote and flip through the channels, the meteor . . . zombies . . . aliens . . . man-eating frogs . . . zombies . . . Jersey Shore . . . meteor . . . tornadoes . . . some kind of western about four weird guys on horses . . . yeah, nothing on, at least that much hasn’t changed.
Not much else to do but go nail another board over that window, grab your baseball bat, a bottle of Tequila, your favorite snacks, and watch:
It’s the first Tuesday of June and folks, todays release will have you see a lot of Clint Eastwood at your stores. Yesterday was Eastwood’s 80th birthday and the Blu-Ray/DVD market decided to (re-)release pretty much all the films he either star or directed (sometimes both) on either Blu-Ray/DVD singles, combo packs, and collection packs. There are few new movies and like always, we list whether if it’s a BUY, RENT, or PASS on them. We got the Old Stuff is New Again section which will be filled with Eastwood and few other titles not Eastwood related. There is also the TV Show DVD Worth Checking Out section with two releases. No Anime Pick this week so check out what came out after the jump.
Ever wondered what Blinky, Pinky, Inky and Clyde (is it sad that I remember their names) ever talked about when they were hanging out in the box while Pacman is out there eating his pellets. Well, the folks at College Humor released a video based on it and hey, the ghosts watches TV and talk about it like us nerds. Of course, not everyone watches all the popular show and that is the case with Clyde, in which I can relate to because of WWE’s programing… though I have no idea what the hell Private Practice is. Anyways, check out the vid and enjoy!
