This time next week we’ll know whether Suicide Squad is the epic turn around that the DC Expanded Universe needs, or whether it’s another sign post in an ongoing disaster. We’re hoping for the former obviously, but Warner Bros. seems to be hedging their bets with news that Batman may not be the only superhero to appear in the film. Stan Lee’s Next Cameo Could Feature … You

Stan Lee

One of the most prolific creators in all of nerddom – not to mention, one of the most commonly spotted Easter eggs in the Marvel cinematic universe – Stan Lee has become almost as widely recognised for his quirky movie cameos as for his wealth of iconic comic creations. His impact on the comic community and industry is all but unrivalled. The worlds and characters he has written have been celebrated the world over. He was integral to the work that made Marvel ahuge multimedia corporation, from its roots as a small division of a publishing house. He spearheaded the first significant challenge to censorship in comic books. (more…)

You don’t really need to find a way to get people more interested in Star Wars, but if you want to ratchet up the hype, you attach an A-list actor like Tom Hardy. Hardy’s come a long way since playing a Picard clone in Star Trek: Nemesis, so long that he’s now lined up a gig in the new Star Wars trilogy, but like the many big name cameos that appeared in The Force Awakens, Hardy’s role won’t involve counting script pages. Still, thanks to some reliable Star Wars spies, we have the spoilery details about the who and how Hardy will be appearing in Rian Johnson‘s middle chapter of the sequel trilogy. (more…)

There’s an interesting rumor starting to make the Internet rounds that Marvel‘s CCO (Chief Creative Officer) Joe Quesada had a hidden cameo in Netflix‘s Daredevil Season 2 finale, an Easter Egg if you will. Rich Johnston over at BleedingCool is reporting that sources have revealed that Quesada was one of The Hand Ninjas on the roof. Can you pick him out? (more…)

While the debate between worthiness and terribleness about Batman V. Superman: Dawn of Justice continues, fans and critics are also continuing to unpack the numerous set-ups and references that director Zack Snyder crammed into the film. The biggest among those crammed items is a rather blatant and explicit five minute long sequence that introduced members of the Justice League that didn’t have a significant role in the story, including Victor Stone, AKA: Cyborg, played by Ray Fisher. In that vignette though, there’s a much more significant reveal that Snyder has now confirmed. Beware! There be spoilers revealed from here… (more…)

Did you know that Kevin Smith is a Star Wars fan? It’s true, watch his movies. From the first of a litany of Star Wars jokes and conversation in Clerks, you knew that you were in the presence of a mega-fan. It should come as no surprise then that Smith would lend himself to a new Star Wars project. Like so many others, we had a role in the recently released Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and like so many other Star Wars information, the exact details of Smith’s role have remained a secret…. Until now. What part did Smith play? Let’s just say he was a faceless cog in the machine. (more…)

We’re at a point in the life of the Marvel Cinematic Universe where there’s such a number and diversity of characters across many backgrounds, that anyone can show up any time in any movie or show. Falcon popped up in Ant-Man, Lady Sif teamed twice with the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., and Spider-Man will make an appearance in Captain America: Civil War. Speaking of Spider-Man, there’s been a lot of excitement about his induction into the MCU, with speculation focused on a) his role in Civil War and b) what to expect from this 2017 solo movie. But now there’s a c) What if Spidey is going to appear in Doctor Strange? (more…)

Remember when the internet was set a flutter in the months before the release of Avengers: Age of Ultron with all the news about all the cameos that will be found there in? Of course you don’t, you’re still wallowing in the disappointment over the finished film. One of the things you may be disappointed about is the lack of appearance of Loki, the villain of the first Avengers film played by Tom Hiddleston. While talking about his new film, Crimson Peak, Hiddleston was asked about what happened, and why it turned out that Loki was cut from the film. The actor gave the following honest answer. (more…)

It began with Dan Aykroyd, who let it slip that he was filming a cameo in the Ghostbusters reboot earlier this summer. And then came news that the ever reclusive Bill Murray, the man that more or less held up Ghostbusters 3 single handedly, has done a cameo of his own. With the sad passing of Harold Ramis, that left only one member of the original quartet who hadn’t yet endorsed the new, all female crew of Ghostbusters, but that all changed this weekend when director Paul Feig posted that Ernie Hudson had stopped by to lend his austere presence to the last day of principle photography on Ghostbusters.
