Netflix recently dropped season 2 of Marvel’s Iron Fist, a show with an overwhelmingly panned first season. As the fourth series to round out “The Defenders” hero group of New York, the first season failed to do much except set up plot for The Defenders itself. Its main hero was annoying, parts of it were boring, and it quickly became known as the worst Marvel series to exist.
But what about season 2?
Even among the most hardcore fans of Marvel’s Netflix shows, Iron Fist ranks low. Iron Fist was rushed, and it showed in both writing and fight choreography, as well as crew preparations. But fans saw hope for the character in Defenders with the chemistry between actors Finn Jones and Mike Colter who play Danny Rand, Iron Fist, and Luke Cage, respectively. Still, the character fell short of fan expectations. That is until Danny showed up for an episode of Luke Cage. Finally, fans saw an Iron Fist they could root for. A more grounded character. But what was still missing from the character, and will Iron Fist Season 2 give it to us?
Almost all attention in Netflix’s new Marvel show Iron Fist will be focused on Danny Rand (Finn Jones) as he is the titular hero of the story. Rand, a presumed dead orphan has been missing for 15 years after the plane crash that killed his parent returns to New York City to fight for his family country. At the same time, he will have to balance those responsibilities with the responsibility of being the Iron Fist of K’un L’un.
