D.J. Cotrona

When news hit the Internet that From Dusk Till Dawn was coming to television, many people wondered why, and would the series match the frolicking fun of the original, or follow the less-than-satisfying sequels. Why? Director Robert Rodriguez says:

If the film is the short story, this is the novel. There was so much that I wanted to explore in that movie that I didn’t get to. (more…)

Japan Gets Trailer for Overdue Joe Sequel

Paramount Pictures Japan has released a short, albeit frenetic and action-packed trailer for the long-awaited and oft-delayed sequel to GI Joe: Rise Of Cobra GI Joe: Retaliation.

The film, starring D.J. Cotrona, Byung-hun Lee, Adrianne Palicki, Ray Park, Jonathan Pryce, Ray Stevenson, and Channing Tatum…Plus Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Bruce Willis, is due to arrive in theatres March 29th of this year. Fans have waited through a seemingly endless series of delays, setbacks, and reschedulings for the Joes’ second attempt at a live action film: Many are sanguine that Retaliation will make up for the deficiencies of the not unenjoyable, but profoundly uneven GI Joe: Rise of Cobra.

We’ll find out in late March if Retaliation lives up to the hype, and has been worth the fans’ patience.

You may know Ray Stevenson from Punisher: War Zone, Thor, and Rome. And, soon, you’ll also know him as Firefly in G.I Joe 2: Cobra Strikes, directed by John Chu. Firefly is an otherwise nameless Cobra contract killer, ninja master, and sabotaging dude (because I’m too cool to say “saboteur”). He’s a pretty badass character. We’ll see how this movie does him justice; if not, the film’s produces will be getting fuckin’ Punished. (Yes, I’m all up in the bad jokes today.)

Other cast members that have been confirmed for this film include: Channing Tatum, Dwayne Johnson, Adrianne Palicki, Elodie Yung, RZA and D.J. Cotrona. Shooting starts in Louisiana in a few weeks.
