I don’t watch Dancing With The Stars often (Okay, that’s a lie. Wife forces me to watch every week), but when I do, it’s because of moments like this. Dancers Corbin Bleu (of High School Musical fame) and Karina Smirnoff dressed as Khal Drogo and Daenerys Targaryen and performed the Viennese Waltz to the Game of Thrones theme song. It had the all the blood and fire you thought it would… none whatsoever. Okay, there was maybe a little fire; literal flames on set and some hotness on the dance floor. Oi! I may have to turn in my nerd card for having admitted that. (more…)

This time on The BastardCast, Jason and Jeremy pull a 180 after watching the new RoboCop trailer, warn you about the first ever GTA related virus that didn’t come from banging a pixelated hooker in a car park, and go back to school to learn about zombie stuff and things.

Also on the show: This Week in OMG/Total BS Star Wars News, another DC writer leaves the nest (and shits in it too), Will Smith gets ready to have a meeting in an airport Ramada about returning to his signature role (WILD WILD WILD WESTER here we come!), and Transformers 4 gets a title that we don’t care about (look forward to our 180 on The Dinobot Holocaust in a future episode.)

More? We can not deny you the news about an internet addiction treatment center (step one is admitting that you have a problem, step two is joining Google +), our sparkling repartee about the next iteration of the Bat suit, or our questions about whether Elizabeth Berkely (Showgirls & Saved by the Bell… we’re just helping you so you don’t have to use IMDB) can successfully undulate on dry land without the aid of Kyle MacLachlan’s magical unicorn penis on Dancing with the Stars?

By the way, If you have to ask, yes, this next story is readymade to make you scratch your head to the point where it leaves scar tissue: a mail room worker tried to take her career to higher ground by claiming to know the lead singer of the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Chris Nolan, assuming that Hollywood would give it away… now.

Oh, and here is the that BatFleck Batsuit they talked about… see? They posted the link. GO TEAM!

What the Fox Say? He say re-subscribe to the show on iTunes, there may be a glitch in the system that is conspiring to keep you away from us! He also says that the half life of a meme is less than the amount of time that it takes to.. what were we talking about?

All that and Jeremy Argh Hudson on the lightness of beering during the autumnal treat that is, The BastardCast!drunk-cat

The BastardCast: Now with 100% More Remo Williams!

Tomorrow, X-Box gamers around the world can prepare for slamming their genitals in a sliding glass door,  as the worst game you could ever imagine, Star Wars Kinect,  gets released. Fans of the series were hoping for the complete Jedi/Sith experience: Using the force, wielding a lightsaber, force choking some bitches (and by bitches I mean Jedi scum)…etc. Instead, what we are getting is… I’m sorry, I’m at a loss for words. I cannot even begin to describe what a horrible mess this is. Here, check out the following clip featuring Han Solo dancing to the aptly named song “I’m Han Solo” to see what I mean.

Han Solo, the universe’s most bad-ass smuggler/ladies man, is turned into a freaking pussy in a matter of seconds. Did it come to anyone’s attention that Star Wars fans want light-sabers and blasters in their game, not Lobot spinning records in the carbon-freezing chamber! We can’t explain how excited we are to play the mini-game that let’s us pick out Jabba’s belly button lint.

George Lucas was right, the franchise is dead.

And Now a Special Dance from George Takei

Whether he sits in on the The Howard Stern show, calls for peace, or asks  fans of Star Trek and Star Wars to combat Twilight, because “it is really, really bad”, Asian actor George Takei is simply AWESOME! He is witty, funny, and social media relevant! It’s for these reasons that we are obligated to mention any of his meme worthy statuses, or share moments of the mans happiness.

George Takei was so excited about raising over $158,000 for his upcoming Broadway musical, “Allegiance”, that he wanted to thank everyone with a dance.

This means that he is now one major step closer to opening the very first Broadway musical to ever deal with the horrors of the American Japanese Internment Camps that were used during WWII.

Enjoy the video below:

Every day the internet produces an astounding amount of goodies and gems. Most hilarious, some amusing, but all worth at least a few seconds of your time. We here at Nerd Bastards try to bring you the best bits of news and nerdery the webz has to offer, with a bit of snark thrown in. But sometimes not everything makes the cut.

Monday through Friday we’ll be bringing you our inbox leftovers, our forgotten bookmarks, the nerdy bits that simply slipped through the cracks. You can submit items to Nerdy Bits by emailing us at nerdybits@nerdbastards.com.

Seriously, what the fuck are these super heroes doing at a young kid’s birthday? Who told them this was an appropriate way to dance? I think Spider-Man and Iron Man have some explaining to do. ((more…)

Mark Romanek’s EPIC Hamster Dance

Battling robots blowing each other apart with lasers and explosions, that’s epic. A Kia Soul with dancing hamsters that make said robots start shuffling as a method of peace, that’s EPIC.

This sounds like one big Internet troll, but it’s actually the newest Kia commercial from director Mark Romanek. Don’t get me wrong, the man is a fantastic music and film director, but this is definitely a huge “what the…” moment for everyone. Since when does blasting a LMAFO song on a tin can of a car stop faceless robots from blasting hamsters into n00b paste? Hell, the car is onscreen less then the fucking hamsters are, but hey if it sells cars then go for it.

If you see one epic dancing video today, please for the love of God let it be this one.

Here’s the spot in it’s entirety.

If the commercial has peaked your interests then be sure to check out Entertainment Weekly for some quotes from Romanek. Then take a look over on Shoot to see how the special FX were utilized by Kia and Romanek. What’s missing, though? Was Rich+Tone’s choreography copied or did they actually have them dress up in hamster suits to shuffle? That’s the big question.

The Autobots Are Fly Like A G6: Transformers Parody

You’ve probably heard of the song “Like A G6” by The Far East Side Movement. The Autobots have heard of it as well.

Randall Ng modeled and animated this parody of the Autobots shakin’ their thangs to this song at the Dancitron. And someone seems to think that they’re fly like a G1.

This is how Transformers would dance if they could dance. Check it out!

At this year’s Makers Faire attendees sure got a treat. It was a combination of the most nerderific proportions. Adam Savage, co-host of Mythbusters,  went onstage during Arc Attack‘s set to dance in a cage between two Tesla coils while the theme music from Doctor Who was played. I told your it was pretty epic.

Watch the video and feel those Monday blues simply drift away. Or just laugh at Adam’s “awesome” dance moves as he’s trapped in a metal cage while bolts of electricity crackle around him.

As a kid, I would wake up 5 in the morning to watch Sailor Moon and Dragon Ball Z on UPN just because it was the hardcore thing to do when I was 9. So maybe I can sing the whole Sailor Moon dub theme song and had a crush on Amy (you know, Sailor Mercury) but these guys… I think these guys like the song a bit more than I do. It seems that once the music gets going, they bash around, holding their crotch, and find things to…thrust their hips on to (yeah, humping things) . Who ever thought of this is a genius since it’s catching on and while I find it amusing, it’s utterly stupid.

Down below is the Sailor Moon vid and after the jump, you can check out these fools dancing to the Digimon Digi-rap, Shaman King theme, and the CardCaptors theme.
