There is no question that audiences are super excited about Netflix’s new original series, Marvel’s Daredevil.  The excitement for the series carries far beyond the fan base that follows the comic book series and extends all the way through every actor and producer who has had the privilege of working on the show.  While we have recently been highlighting several comments that are specifically centered around the series itself, at last week’s press junket for the show, NerdBastards did have a chance to ask one of the series stars, Deborah Ann Woll, a bit of a deeper question and the response we received was a wonderful one. In a little over a month, Marvel Studios will begin the next phase of its global multimedia dominance by launching the first of five Netflix series, this one about Daredevil, the Man Without Fear. Starring Charlie Cox as the titular vigilante with super-powered senses, Daredevil promises to be unlike any Marvel movie or series seen so far, a grim and gritty urban tale of dark heroes and darker villains. In a batch of new images from the show just released, we get our first official look at many of the other many characters, and in the accompanying interview, the show’s bosses discuss where Ol’ Horn Head, that is if he does take on a horn-headed helmet at some point, will find his place in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Marvel fans all over the globe cheered when it was announced that the screen rights to Daredevil were back in Marvel’s capable hands.  Those cheers were nothing compared to those that were inspired by the news that the Man Without Fear would be starring in his own Netflix series.  Now that production has been underway for quite some time, Marvel is finally ready to let the rest of us know what the new logo for the series will look like. In Marvel’s hands, the Daredevil series for Netflix audiences is on an upward spiral. It seems every week there’s news of a pivotal New York City shoot or some well-received casting news. In terms of the latter, it looks a like long-term love interest to series protagonist and ace attorney Matt Murdock, played by Charlie Cox, has been cast today. The lovely Karen Page is set to grace the small screens, educating the uninitiated that our hero actually got to date someone besides Elektra. Karen started out as a secretary at Matt’s law firm. The two started getting hot and heavy and eventually she’d find out about his alternative lifestyle as a Hell’s Kitchen hero. And who is the lucky actress taking on this small but important task? The answer lingers outside the world of superheroes and borders on the supernatural… (more…)
