Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson
We’ve known for a very very (very) long time that Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson (famously from Fast and Furious and infamous for The Tooth Fairy,) will star as the immortal Egyptian anti-hero in the someday coming
About two weeks ago, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson posted a video on this YouTube channel where he went over his very first match in the WWE. Needless to say, it wasn’t the dream first match he thought he would always have, but it was really great hearing the insight that The Rock had regarding how things worked inside the ring and out. Now it looks like a television series based on the behind-the-scenes world of professional wrestling has been picked up by Fox Television and The Rock will be a part of it. It’ll be a comedy based on the real life experiences of Johnson and former WWE head writer, Brian Gerwitz. Will Ferrell is set to be one of the producers.
Captain Marvel Shazam/Black Adam movie that is apparently still someday coming, but who’d be playing the good guy that the former wrestler turned actor’s bad guy? Well Mr. The Rock Johnson, who is also reportedly producing the film, did give a not so subtle hint to We Got This Covered on who he’d want to see suited up as the scarlet draped acronym powered hero. Over the last few weeks, social media has been ablaze about problems behind the scenes of the 8th installment of the Fast & Furious franchise between actors Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Vin Diesel. The two superstars are reported to not be getting along while filming the latest film. Johnson first posted a cryptic message on social media talking about certain “Candy Asses” on set that doesn’t conduct themselves as professionals. After Internet sleuths went to work, it was confirmed that the person who he was referencing was co-star Vin Diesel. After it was outed that he was the culprit, Vin Diesel also took to social media and even made the statement that veteran actor Tommy Lee Jones was originally supposed to have the role of Hobbs and not Johnson. The rest of the cast has been mum when asked about the feud between the two. However, this “feud” might not have any legs.
While DC executives can deny it till the cows come home, Deadpool‘s “R” rated success at the box office is breathing new life into some old comic book properties. On the DC side there’s Lobo, The Main Man, the cursing, killing, hard-drinking, intergalactic biker mercenary of the 90’s reinvention by co-creator Keith Giffen. Wonder Woman screenwriter Jason Fuchs has been tasked with throwing out the previous attempts back in 2009 and coming up with something new, and although it hasn’t been said publicly, something “R” rated of course. This time it’s….more than likely going to be bigger and more disaster-y. Did you want this? You’re going to get it regardless. Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is reportedly headlining a sequel to last years CGI-heavy disaster movie hit San Andreas with the action moving towards the excellently named ‘Ring of Fire’ in the Pacific Ocean. We’ll start the campaign for Johnny Cash to be on the soundtrack right here. (more…)
Abducted and probed thoroughly and lovingly by aliens or rednecks, Jeremy and Jason made their escape after a month in captivity, their only motivation to go home and podcast for you fine people. So… here’s the RadioBastard Podcast, live (taped) and in living color (it’s audio).
On the show this time: Raptor Strike Force Bravo (Jurassic World), The Rock vs. Skyscrapers, depressing Disney cartoons, Jason shouts at SDCC attendees, and one more sexy primate.
You’re going to learn a few things if you go see San Andreas, one of the summer’s biggest entries into the ever-dwindling “Non-Superhero, Non-Disney, Non-Remake/Sequel, Non-YA” category. Allow me to outline them for you, in no particular order. (more…)
With production and distribution rights belonging to New Line Cinema and not Warner Bros, the question remains… Is Shazam part of the DC Movie Universe, or not? New Line’s Toby Emmerich made some comments a while back indicating that the character may become a standalone franchise that sits apart from any other built up Universe. But, alas, a new post from DC has now upset the applecart, suggesting that Shazam might actually be part of the DC Universe, alongside Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman. So, the ultimate question on our minds now – is if the character going to be an active group participant in The Justice League? (more…)
Just when you thought it was safe to go back in the water, you really need to stop watching all those Shark Week shows, Paramount has put its Baywatch movie back on track. Writer Justin Malen has been brought in to write an original or touch up the previous s attempts script. The comedy writing team of Sean Anders and John Morris (We’re the Millers) are said to be co-directing. Is co-directing a thing now? Anders just wrapped up directing Horrible Bosses 2 so we’ll have a clear indication concerning Anders comedic directing skills. The question I keep asking myself is, “Why the hell is the Rock involved?” (more…)
