Did you know today was Ghostbusters Day? Can’t blame you if you say you didn’t. Today, June 8th, marks the 32-year anniversary of the premiere of Ivan Reitman’s ‘Ghostbusters.’  In the original 1984 film, the Ecto-1 was a transformation of an old ambulance into the tricked-out transport for the spirit specialists. In Paul Feig‘s reboot, which debuts in almost 5 weeks, wanted to honor the classic vehicle but did a little upgrade. For the upcoming film starring Melissa McCarthy, Kirsten Wiig, Leslie Jones and Kate McKinnon, the director opted for an upgrade… a Cadillac hearse. Yesterday Paul Feig revealed the Ghostbusters reboot’s Ecto-1. Today there’s some on set video of said car in action and some additional pictures that reveal an all new vehicle for the Ghostbusters franchise: the ECTO-2. What could it be? Pictured above is what you might have seen on a Sony Pictures tour, the original and much beloved Ghostbusters ECTO-1. Now that the movie is getting a Reboot/Re-imagining by director Paul Feig it was expected that there would be changes to the costumes, equipment, and yes, the ECTO-1. The new Proton Pack wasn’t very well received by long time fans last week, but that is nothing in comparison to the negative reaction Feig is getting from his latest tweet that included a first look at the new ECTO-1.
