Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

The Legend of Zelda violin girl that brought a crooked little smile this NerdBastards face, then set his heart beating to the rhythm of the beautiful music she coaxed out of that magical violin, has taken on the Skyrim theme.

Lindsey Sterling (Zelda Violin girl) found that she needed a hand to complete this video and found it in the voice of Peter Hollens. Together they brought their combined musical talents to bear on the Skyrim theme using ONLY Peter’s voice and Lindsey’s violin to create 120 tracks to combine into this fantastic video.

Devin Graham also deserves a shout out for the cinematography and location shots that really take this video to a higher level than the usual YouTube posts.

This was our own arrangement of The main theme from Skyrim Elder Scrolls which was composed by Jeremy Soule. He is an amazing artist and it amazing to work with such fantastic music.

Leading up to this weekends big game (the Super Bowl if you’re not big on sports) it’s easy enough to find multiple simulations of the battle for the Vince Lombardi Trophy using the popular EA Sports football video game Madden NFL.

I know, same old same old, right? Luckily that mad geniuses at 1Up have taken a novel approach by using a certain popular Bethesda video game to decide the winner of the biggest game in North America. Pitting Skyrim’s home-grown patriots, the Stormcloaks versus the games rather formidable giants in what is truly a battle for the ages.

Place your bets and check it out after the jump.

Real men don’t need weapons or spells or other lame-wad crap. If you can’t kill it with your steely glare then punch it until it stops moving! YouTube user Robbaz has your guide to stop using girly-man weapons like swords and hammers and start using your mighty, manly fists.

Now if only this game had sparkling vampires to hunt . . .

Crap, now I want a web series about Elder Scrolls V – Skyrim. Dragon Age has me with Felicia Day’s web series and now I’m convinced that this is the marketing tool needed to get avid and casual gamers to the cash register and filling up their shopping carts on the Internet.

So Spike’s VGA 2010 just happened and this fat bastard was willing to put up with the lame jokes and other crap that was put on the screen, such as the terrible TMZ skit… yeah, a video game themed TMZ skit (maybe this is why Epic Games pulled Gears of War 3 from the show).

But it did made it up to me by having a bunch of awesome trailers for upcoming games as 2011 (and onward) is looking to be yet another EPIC year in video games.

After the jump, you can check out trailers for games such as Batman: Arkham City that reveals Hugo Strange as one of the new villains in the game or see a nice teaser of Kratos in the upcoming Mortal Kombat game. Or check out two trailers of RPG’s that are coming out next year in the form of Mass Effect 3 and Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. Also, check out two of Sony’s exclusives titles, Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception and Resistance 3.

Other trailers: Thor: God of Thunder, Prototype 2, Portal 2, Guillermo del Toro’s Insane, Forza Motorsport 4, and SSX: Deadly Descent. So click the jump the button to check out the trailers and the award winners.
