Harrison Ford Talks Han Solo and Indiana Jones

What with the Star Wars: The Force Awakens issue of EW being released, we’ve got some sneak peeks of quotes to share! Harrison Ford opens up to the magazine about his iconic role of Han Solo, revealing how fun it was for him to step back into a character that he’s thankful was kept alive for him to come back to. The actor discusses Han’s personal growth (or lack thereof), and addresses his non-involvement in the standalone Han Solo movie. He also touches on the topic of Indiana Jones, and offers young actors some valuable advice. (more…)

So you might have heard that The X-Files is returning for a six-episode season starting this January on Fox. It seemed to come together pretty quick when the possibility was first raised back at the Television Critics Association press tour back in January and now the series is in front of the cameras in the show’s old stomping grounds in Vancouver. (The abnormally hot and sunny Vancouver, that is.) There’s been a lot rumor and speculation about the new series, and a lot of excitement too as fans watch closely for any news or updates. If that describes you, then you might want to pick up this week’s issue of Entertainment Weekly. (more…)

If you’re a fan of this site, then you’ve probably heard of the Force, but how about the Speed Force? You may not be so steeped into the comic lore of the original Flash books to know anything about the Speed Force, so you might not have gotten too excited when it was name dropped on last night’s episode of The CW‘s The Flash. That’s okay because executive producer Andrew Kreisberg is going to explain it to us. Out of what have looked like, on the surface, as another “freak of the week” episode, we were instead given a fairly big piece of Flash mythology and it was just dropped in a manner akin to the way we learned what Cisco wore to work on his first day at S.T.A.R. Labs. Spoilers ahead obviously. (more…)

It’s an event that’s forever been in the making, doubly so since it was announced before last San Diego Comic Con, but Fox previewed the inevitable Simpsons/Family Guy crossover today at the event otherwise known as “Nerd Fest 2014.” Call it a cheap ploy for ratings, call it the last grasp of two once-great animated franchises, or call it the entertainment event of fall, but “The Simpsons Guy” is coming, and it’s the hour-long opening of season 13 of Family Guy. If you can’t wait though, a preview clip has been posted to the interwebs. (more…)

It’s been raining Avengers: Age of Ultron news this week! Following up on the release of it’s Avengers cover, including the first ever look at Ultron himself, earlier today, Entertainment Weekly has released a further eight photographs featuring stills from the film and behind the scenes glimpses at the production. Below you will see nothing terribly spoilery, just some Avengers in action, a couple of new frenemies and a surprise guest. Let’s take a look at your first official set of production photos from the Avengers sequel.  (more…)

Earlier today we shared some of the new images from Star Trek Into Darkness found in the latest issue of Entertainment Weekly. Little did we know that wasn’t where the story ended. Comic Book Movie has picked up on some interesting phrasing on EW’s back issue page that may just spoil the true identity of Benedict Cumberbatch‘s villain.

Here I issue the requisite SPOILER WARNING!

With everyone all pumped up for the Walking Dead, after Comic Con’s release of the Season 2 teaser trailer, you’d expect everything to go according to plan. That is not the case. Frank Darabont pulled the rug out from all the fans with today’s announcement that he would be stepping down from his position as writer/producer/ director of the show for this season.  Deadline and EW report that even though he is stepping down from his position, he’ll still work for the show in some capacity.

Slashfilm states that the reported reason for Darabont’s sudden leave was due to:

“never quite [getting] the hang of working in the fast pace of TV production versus feature film production.”

After such a captivating and well executed first season, it is sad to see him go. To each their own I guess. If you are concerned that this suddent split means that the show’s release will get pushed back, be at ease. Deadline reports that:

“this will not affect production of the show, which will continue as previously scheduled, right up until the planned premiere on October 16.”

For all of those who missed it,take a look at the Season 2 teaser trailer, and tell us what you  think of the split? Will this be a good or bad thing for this fledgling zombie drama in the long run?
