Fast 8

You were probably asking yourself before seeing this trailer: Can the Fast and the Furious movies get any bigger? The answer, as proved in this first trailer for the eight film in the series, The Fate and the Furious, is a resounding “Ah, hell yes!” Come the spring, the film formally known as Fast 8 will open in theatres everywhere with the hopes that the billion dollar franchise, once the street racing pastiche of Point Break, will keep rolling in the green as it goes further into James Bond-like globetrotting and espionage. Beware though, because this chapter will see your favourite criminal with a heart of gold go bad. (more…)

This seems to be the week for trailers, doesn’t it? We kicked off with The Mummy reboot, suffered through Transformers: The Last Knight, high-fived over the return of Spider-Man, and just this morning got chills over the The War of the Planet of the Apes. To wrap the week, or begin again next week, Universal Pictures is giving us a sneak peak of the Fast 8 trailer, which is now improbably titled The Fate of the Furious. That makes it sound like this is some kind of mystical kung-fu movie, but one look at the teaser posted below definitely says this action flick is a whole lot bigger and louder than that.  (more…)

The Rock and Vin Diesel

Over the last few weeks, social media has been ablaze about problems behind the scenes of the 8th installment of the Fast & Furious franchise between actors Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Vin Diesel. The two superstars are reported to not be getting along while filming the latest film.  Johnson first posted a cryptic message on social media talking about certain “Candy Asses” on set that doesn’t conduct themselves as professionals. After Internet sleuths went to work, it was confirmed that the person who he was referencing was co-star Vin Diesel. After it was outed that he was the culprit, Vin Diesel also took to social media and even made the statement that veteran actor Tommy Lee Jones was originally supposed to have the role of Hobbs and not Johnson. The rest of the cast has been mum when asked about the feud between the two. However, this “feud” might not have any legs.

It’s been a long wait (or at least it’s felt like it), and we can’t wait to see the Fast and Furious franchise again. After the tragic death of Paul Walker, many thought that Furious 7 would be the final film in the franchise. However, Furious 7‘s cliffhanger ending certainly leaves room for a sequel, and everyone’s favorite high-octane family is set to storm New York City in April, 2017. Vin Diesel and Jason Statham are set to return for the film, and the cast just got even bigger. Ever wondered what would happen if the worlds of Mad Max and Fast and Furious collided? Well you’re about to find out, because Furiosa herself has officially joined the cast.
