It’s easily going to be the most coveted roles amongst young Hollywood actors. Yes, everyone wants to be Spider-Man, and with the hero’s new found place in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it’s safe to say that a lot of guys of a certain age are going to be making their pitch to play your friendly neighborhood wall-crawler. Logan Lerman and Dylan O’Brien have been the leading candidates so far, but that’s not official, so as far everyone’s concerned, the role is wide open. To that end, a new potential has emerged, and he thinks it would be “fantastic” if got a shot, as it would be a nice change of pace from his day job as a semi-incestuous serial killer. (more…)

I have to admit that I’m having a little trouble getting into this post. Alfred Hitchcock’s Psycho is an all time horror classic of my youth and I’m leery of this, and any other for that matter, attempt to bring it into contemporary times. That’s what A&E and executive producers Carlton Cuse (Lost) and Kerry Ehrin (Friday Night Lights) have done with their Psycho prequel Bates Motel.

It’s the story of Norman Bates in his teenage years portrayed by Freddie Highmore, yep that kid from Johnny Depp’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. I have to say that raises the “creep” meter for me right there. The show premieres next Monday, March 18th at 10PM Eastern time.

Highmore is joined by a solid cast with Academy Award nominee Vera Farmiga (Up in the Air, The Departed) as his mother, Max Thieriot (Disconnect), Olivia Cooke (Blackout), and Nicola Peltz (The Last Airbender).

Check out the first six minutes and a teaser and some other stuff we’ve collected below.

What do you think, will you give it a chance? I’m hearing some good things when I have looked around the Internet, but I hope it starts off quick, I don’t know how long I can hang around with some of my other favorite shows returning to television in the coming weeks.
