G.I.Joe: Retalitation

You caught a couple of glimpses at the new trailer in the earlier post about Jon M. Chu‘s G.I.Joe: Retaliation, but now NerdBastards had got the whole shebang for your viewing pleasure. The official word was that the film was being retooled for 3D although the hottest rumor was that the powers that be over at Paramount Pictures felt the movie needed to capitalize more on Channing Tatum’s hotness, what ever the hell that is.

Well, the movie looks set to go for the March 29th, 2013 release date. There’s no need to worry about the toys hitting store shelves on time, they’ve been gathering dust on toy aisles and warehouse docks for months.

There’s some new scenes and quips to hear on the trailer so it’s worth a look. Nothing new on the Tatum side though, at least nothing I haven’t seen before. Holler out in the comments section if you see something new.

G.I.Joe: Retaliation stars Bruce Willis and Dwayne Johnson, with Channing Tatum, Arnold Vosloo, Ray Park, Jonathan Pryce, and Lee Byung-hun.

Someone at Paramount Pictures has shaken off the effects of drinking the Micheal Bay Kool-Aid and called a halt to all production activities connected to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle reboot. The reboot that took away the teenage, the mutant, and the turtle aspects of the franchise and replaced them with aliens.

This NerdBastard was at first dismayed at Paramount’s move to delay G.I.Joe: Retaliation for 3D conversion and script rewrites and re-shoots; then confused when Paramount basically hit the panic button on World War Z after letting the production go so far with so many issues; now this TMNT news fills this NerdBastard with hope, hope that someone in Paramount has grown a pair and wants to make GOOD movies.

The Hollywood reporter broke the story and summed it up below:

The Hollywood Reporter:
Paramount Pictures has shut down a planned reboot of the Ninja Turtles franchise, sources tell The Hollywood Reporter. The effects-heavy film, which was in pre-production in Vancouver, was set for release in December 2013. That date is being pushed to May 2014, according to sources.
The issue is said to be the script. Paramount has delayed several big movies from this year to 2013, including G.I. Joe: Retribution and Brad Pitt’s World War Z, leaving it with a spotty pipeline for the current year. Now it has halted work on its planned holiday movie for 2013, temporarily laying off pre-production staff and informing those prepping the film that the work stoppage is “indefinite,” according to sources. Another source close to the production says the movie has been pushed 10 weeks.
A Paramount rep would not immediately comment.
“The issue is said to be the script,” Hot damn! Someone at Paramount finally read the damn thing and said, “What the F@%# is this shit?”
What do you think about this news? Does this signal a new trend in Hollywood?
