One of the most anticipated movies movies of next is the first ever Wonder Woman feature film, which will star Gal Godot as the titular character. A mythical Grecian warrior hailing from the mystical, all female isle of Themyscira, the film will see the super-heroine enter the world at large when a man, Steve Trevor (Chris Pine) washes up on the shore—but Trevor’s world is one at the brink of war, and when Themyscira needs an emissary to represent themselves in the conflict, Princess Diana, daughter of Zeus, Wonder Woman herself, will take up the role. Warner Brothers has released a new trailer for Zack Snyder‘s Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice that includes new footage and a look at Joe Chill, the man who killed Bruce Wayne’s parents. There are a couple other images in this new trailer that pose a few questions about the film and how those fit into its story line. Let’s take a look and discuss it. (more…)


DC Comics is doing its best to play catch-up in the world of “cinematic superhero shared universes” (try saying that tongue-twister three times fast).  In 2016 we’ll be seeing two films from the comic company: August gives us the “bad guy team-up tale” Suicide Squad and March brings Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice, where audiences will get their first looks at the big-screen versions of Aquaman, the “new” Affleck Batman, and Wonder Woman.  Due in 2017 is a solo outing for Wonder Woman – and thanks to a new DC TV special, we now have our first footage from the film. Buried in Variety’s story about the casting of Gal Godot (Fast & Furious 6) as Wonder Woman (which we covered here) are a couple of other provocative details. Aside from the rather straight-forward secondary bit of casting scoop, news of who might potentially be playing the villain in Batman Vs Superman, is the news that there maybe another hero joining the fun. If you’re not going to have your fill of The Flash by the time he spins off from The CW’s Arrow, then you’ll have plenty more to cheer about come 2015. (more…)
