Last year, Hollywood lost one of its sci-fi (and all around awesome) icons when actress Carrie Fischer passed away. Best known for playing Princess Leia in the Star Wars franchise, Fischer also appeared in countless other films, including Shampoo, The Blues Brothers, When Harry Met Sally…, and countless others. Fischer also was a good novelist as well as a screenwriter who wrote countless films and also helped with re-writes for others. Most recently, she once again joined the geek lexicon returning in the latest Star Wars film, The Force Awakens as General Leia for the recent film. She had already completed her filming for the upcoming film, Star Wars: The Last Jedi when she, unfortunately, passed away afterward.
