The Interwebz is a great place for nerdy art and the like. A lot of the time it’s fuckin’ weird shit like Steve Jobs and Jack Layton partying it down with Michael Jackson and Patrick Swayze and other shit like that. But there are a lot of awesome things that we see on a daily basis, and we’re lazy nerd bastards so we just round them all up once a week for your nerdgasm glory.
Starting off this week, we’ve got this kickass fan-made poster for The Avengers. No idea who did this, ’cause I found it cited under “Hobo123” of DeviantART, but that profile has no work on it. So I’ll leave it open-ended for now, but this is a pretty damn awesome poster.
For the two percent of the population who do not know who hipsters are, Wikipedia states it as, “types of young, recently settled urban middle class adults and older teenagers with interests in non-mainstream fashion and culture, particularly indie rock, independent film, magazines such as Vice and Clash, and websites like Pitchfork Media.” Basically, if you’ve seen the South Park episode where everyone who buys a hybrid car becomes self-righteous … that’s pretty much a hipster.
But, what if superheroes like Wolverine and Batman became hipsters obsessed with technology and believed that everything we did or like is wrong and that their way is the only way to do things? Wouldn’t the morals and lessons they teach us by defending the helpless and acting selflessly go right out the window?
Luckily, College Humor decided to treat us with a look at what that universe would look like, and let me tell you, it is scarier than any alternate reality that Marvel Comics or DC could have ever thought of.
Check out the video below, and prepare to be horrified at the dark universe that could have been!
