Guardians-of-the-Galaxy

We know that when it comes to Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, that Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel and Bradley Cooper will be back as Star Lord, Gamora, Drax, Groot and Rocket respectively. We also know that Michael Rooker will return as Yondu, that Karen Gillan will be looking for a new fight as Nebula, and that Glenn Close will class the place up as Nova Prime. Although sadly Benicio del Toro won’t be as the Collector, we are now getting word that a member of the Collector’s menagerie will appear in an encore in the Guardians sequel. Remember before the last 10 seconds of Guardians of the Galaxy when everyone thought that trying to re-make a Howard the Duck movie was a monumentally bad idea? Well, it didn’t take too long after the post-credits scene of GOTG for people to start talking about the greatness of Howard. Heck, he even has his own self-titled comic book again. Despite the renewed love for Howard the Duck, the man that voiced him in the blockbuster Marvel Studios film says that there are still no plans to make another Howard the Duck movie, even with three new mysterious release dates that were revealed yesterday. Do you want to know how in Lords of Kobal’s names Howard the Duck ended up in The Collector‘s ever growing miscellany of expansive paraphernalia and prized possessions in the Guardians of the Galaxy post-credit scene? For those of you who do, you’re in for a “quacking” treat because Marvel is developing a comic book story that will detail how the wise-cracking anthropomorphic noir-head got there. Now, most of you must be thinking that sounds like prequel material right? Not quite! Marvel has indicated that it is going to be a direct sequel to the concluding scene in Guardians of the Galaxy, so we can only presume that there will be details of his current predicament interspersed within new stories (more…)

Howard The Duck

James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy is the Christmas gift that just keeps on giving, it seems. Thanks to the post-credits scene (which was originally suppose to be part of the alternate ending) in Guardians of the Galaxy, there has been a rekindled interest in the swashbuckling mallard. Now, Marvel have announced a reprinting of their Howard The Duck Omnibus, comiXology have increased their digital library of classic Howard issues and now, Marvel announced – via Entertainment Weekly – that Howard the Duck is getting his own ongoing series beginning on March 4th, 2015. Not bad for a 10 second cameo in a movie, albeit, a summer blockbuster turn movie sensation of the year! (more…)

Long time Marvel fans that stayed around for the post credits scenes of Guardians of the Galaxy were delighted with the appearance of Howard the Duck, voiced by Seth Green. Stop. Don’t run off to comment about spoilers. The movies been out almost three weeks and if you Google Howard the Duck you get a ton of posts about the GOTG scene. It’s out there and well-known by now. This post credits appearance quickly led many fans to ask, “Will there be another Howard the Duck movie,” when they should have been asking, “How did Howard the Duck get into Guardians of the Galaxy in the first place?” (more…)

Guardians of the Galaxy made it rain last night at Thursday preview screenings with a haul of $11.2 million in ticket sales for two shows. It’s obvious that this is going to be a big weekend for the near universally acclaimed new entry in the Marvel Studios canon. Something like this was bound to happen, the Internet spent a week worrying it self to death over what Nathan Fillion‘s cameo in James Gunn‘s Guardians of the Galaxy would be. Now, with the release of the UK Press Kit, we know all the who and what of the cameos, if we don’t know exactly where those will fit into the movie. I didn’t want to click it and find out, but after about 20 seconds of soul-searching, I crumbled so we could bring it to you here.
