it crowd

Fans of The IT Crowd are somewhat religious in their obsession with the show. It was a wonderful bit of British comedy that spanned just 25 episodes (that’s 4 seasons in Britlandia) and one special. Before it even went off the air, the powers-that-be decided that they wanted to cash in on the show’s popularity, so they tried an American remake. And despite bringing one of the main characters along for the ride, it did not make the grade and was scrapped. Now, NBC is at it again. In typical “we want more money!” fashion, they’ve decided to take another crack at bringing The It Crowd Mark II to the small screen. (more…)

Recorded by three disgraced mall Santa’s over a steel drum filled with burning dreams from the year gone by, Jason, Matt, and Jeremy are here to invade your chimney and deliver The BastardCast Christmas Special! thor the dark world

And now, my lovely Nerd Readers, a bit of casting news from the front line of the second Thor flick, Thor: The Dark World.  It seems as if the beloved British comedy, The IT Crowd is outsourcing its talent in the form of Chris O’Dowd.  In case you can’t remember which guy he played, here’s a picture of his melon:

When talking about his choice of roles, O’Dowd had this to say:

I think I’ll do more dramatic stuff and I think I have some stuff coming out that’s a bit more dramatic. I don’t know if I’d do an action movie because I don’t know if I could keep a straight face honestly, I just think it’s so silly. Like I love watching them but I can’t imagine me doing one. Actually, you know what I’ve done, just for fun because I didn’t think there was any way that I could be in a superhero movie, so I’ve done a scene in the new “Thor” movie, just for that. I just do like one scene, which was fun.

And later, on his Twitter, he had this spoiler to share:

So today I’m filming a date scene with Natalie Portman.#UpTheRossies

So there you have it folks.  We have no idea who he’s playing, but he will be there for at least a minute or so.  Check him out when Thor: The Dark World hits theaters come November 8th, later this year of our lord, 2013.

Thanks to /film for the heads-up.
