When it was announced last week that Static Shock would be making its way onto television screens or digital download as a live action series, and my hand stopped making that “Hell Yeah!” fist pump in the air, I felt a cold shiver. What could cause that immediate change? My brain caught up with my emotions and asked the question that has started many a comic book store argument, “Who the heck are they going to cast…. We, along with the rest of the Internet, have focused a lot of attention on the Gotham character “The Comedian” played by Jon Beavers. He first appeared on our radar when cast and described as a comedic performer at Fish Mooney’s (Jada Pinkett Smith) club. Just about everyone started to speculate, “Would this be the new Joker?” Now we’ve got another sneaking suspicion that might even be better.  (more…)

There’s a lot of new information, pictures, and videos popping up around the Internet for Warner Brothers and ‘DC Comics‘ new FOX television series Gotham. We’ve scoured the Internet, shined the brightest lights into the Internet’s cobwebbed and shadowy corners to bring you them all right here. Gotham

Fox is going all out for Gotham, the upcoming drama series that follows a young Detective Jim Gordon as he battles his way through the dark, corrupt city that Batman will someday call home. The network has picked up the show for an entire first season and is already promoting the hell out of this thing.

The latest promo is this three and a half minute featurette that gives us a taste of the show and what it’s all about. Simply put, Gotham will be about the seedy crimes of the city and the people who commit and investigate them.

At the upfronts today, the Fox network announced that Gotham, the new Batman prequel series, was getting a plum spot on the prime time schedule. Come September, you’ll be able to watch Gotham leading in to a brand new season of Sleepy Hollow, and if that isn’t an awesome night of nerdy TV, I don’t know what is (unless The CW teams up Arrow with The Flash). But the show won’t be on the air for months, so in a rather tepid attempt to hold over you nerds till the fall, here’s a bunch of behind the scenes photos from the series! (more…)
