You may recall the character Jar Jar Binks. I know, I know, you’ve been trying very, very hard to forget almost every last detail of the Star Warsprequel trilogy for the last dozen years, but I have to remind you that he’s a thing and that he’s real. So what the heck happened to Jar Jar after the end credits rolled on Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith? Interesting you should ask, because the fate of Jar Jar Binks just so happens to be a point of interest in an upcoming Star Wars novel. Reader discretion advised, it just might make you feel sorry for the old Gungan. (more…)
Close your eyes, think for a minute and consider the following question: if you could sum up everything you hate about the Star Wars prequels in one scene, or character, what would it be? Do you really have to think about it, or is your default answer going to be Jar Jar Binks, the accident prone Gungan that, through no fault of his own, gave Palpatine the power to take over the universe? You may hate Jar Jar, you may have dedicated a Facebook page or a Tumblr to that hate, but you should know there’s a real guy named Ahmed Best behind Jar Jar, and he’s gotten the message. (more…)
With a little less than two weeks to go before the release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, the promotion for the film has gone into, ahem, hyperdrive. Even though there’s about 11 more sleeps till most people’s first chance to see the film, fans will be speculating till the curtain lifts as to what, or what not, has been included in the film. Today, we have some insight into the latter. Culled from a press event over the weekend, we can say definitively a couple of things about The Force Awakens: it’s got no Ewoks, no Jar Jar Binks, and no post-credits sequences. At least one of those is sort of disappointing. (more…)
If there is one thing fans can agree on about the Prequels is that everyone hated Jar Jar Binks. His annoyance factor was an 11 on the Spinal Tap Scale. Even Star Trek fans hated his Gugan butt. It should be no surprise then that super Star Wars Fan and Star Wars: The Force Awakens director J.J. Abrams doesn’t really care for J.J. Binks all that much himself. In fact he’s considered killing off the character all together.
The absolute best thing about the new Star Wars trailer was to feel again the monstrous love and connection everyone has with Star Wars. That emotional connectivity is more than palpable – it’s transcendent.
It would be a shame if someone went and ruined all of that now wouldn’t it? Youtube user murdockmotion is a terrible human being in the most amusing of ways. This evil genius went full retard and recut the trailer adding everyone’s not so favorite Gungan Jar Jar Binks to it. Titled Star Wars: The Binks Awakens. Yep, it’s as ridiculous as it sounds. Okay, I am not even going to pretend this is an actual deleted scene from The Phantom Menace. It’s not, no matter how hard we all wish it was. Credit goes to YouTuber withmorten2 for creating the following slightly altered 75 second scene from Star Wars: Episode I in which no one’s favorite Gungan meets his untimely fate very early in the film.
See George? You can go back and edit good things into those movies… Watch it after the jump. (more…)

The Star Wars trilogy (both new and old) are such classics, that people will view almost anything containing their characters. I mean if a Boba Fett video game ever came along, I would purchase it so damn fast!
But there are other characters (primarily from the prequel trilogy), such as Jar Jar Binks, who have made the complete opposite impression. That character is so almost universally disliked, that he all but disappeared from the remaining two prequel movies. But, a video made by production company M2FILM using computer generated Star Wars LEGO characters actually does a relatively decent job of showing what Jar Jar should have been, a rarely appearing side-character with a few moments to shine.
Now, just because Jar Jar is in it, don’t let you stop you from watching it. It is actually a very funny little video, with tons of Easter eggs in the background for fans of Star Wars.
